UPPCL has come up with the notification for the recruitment of Assistant Engineers (Trainee) Post. There are total
271 vacancies for Assistant Engineer (Trainee) Electrical Post, 22 vacancies for Assistant Engineer (Trainee) Computer Science or Information Technology Post, 5 vacancies for Assistant Engineer (Trainee) Electronics & Telecommunication Post and 3 vacancies for Assistant Engineer (Trainee) Civil Engineering post. In order to be eligible for these vacancies a candidate must have
(i) Sufficient knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri Lipi
(ii) A Degree in Engineering in respective Discipline or in a mixed discipline combined with main discipline of Engineering.
The eligible disciplines for this recruitment are
1. Electrical Engineering
2. Computer Science or Information Technology Engineering
3. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
4. Civil Engineering
5. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
&
6. Electrical & Instrumentation engineering
The lower age limit for this recruitment is 21 yrs and the upper age limit is 40 yrs. The age calculation date is 1st January 2019. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 yrs for SC/ST and OBC candidates
while the relaxation in the Upper age limit for physically Handicapped candidates is 15 yrs. Candidates will be selected based on Computer Based written test and Personal Interview round.
In the Written Test,
75% questions shall be from the Engineering discipline
10% questions shall be of General knowledge and Awareness
10% questions of Reasoning and Aptitude
and
5% questions of General Hindi will be there.
Each correct answer shall carry mark assigned to it and each wrong answer shall carry negative mark of 25% of the marks assigned to it. This means that if a question is of 1 mark then 0.25 mark will be deducted for wrong answer and if a question is of 2 marks then 0.5 marks will be deducted for its wrong answer.
The syllabus of this written test will be same as that of GATE 2019 examination. Shortlisted candidates of written test will undergo personal interview and the list of finally selected candidates shall be prepared based on the combined marks obtained in written test and Interview. Selected candidates will be absorbed as per 7th Pay commission under Pay Matrix Level-10 with Rs 56100/- which is minimum level in this pay matrix. Along with this, Dearness Allowance and other allowances are also applicable as per rules by UPPCL.

The application fee is
Rs 1000/- for General, EWS & OBC Category candidates of UP Domicile and for other state candidates.
While it is Rs 700/- for SC/ST Category candidates of UP Domicile
And Rs 10/- for Physically handicapped candidates
Candidates can apply online between 25th September 2019 to 14th October 2019. The tentative date of the Computer Based Test is the Fourth week of November 2019.
