What is ISRO?

ISRO Scientist’s Salary

As per the official notification, an ISRO scientist’s salary is mentioned below:

  • Pay Level: Level-10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC)
  • Gross Salary: Minimum salary will be Rs. 56,100 per month
  • Salary Includes: Basic Pay plus applicable allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits as per government norms

How to Apply?

Candidates interested in applying for the ISRO Recruitment 2025 need to follow these instructions:

  • Candidates can apply for more than one post, but make sure to choose the same exam center for all the posts you’re applying for.
  • If you’re applying for multiple posts, you’ll need to pay the application fee separately for each post.
  • The online application process will be available on the official ISRO website from 27th May 2025 to 16th June 2025.
  • Applications can be submitted only through the online mode—no offline applications will be accepted.
  • Once you register, you’ll get a Registration Number—make sure to save it carefully for future use.
  • You must provide a valid email ID while filling out the form.
  • The last date to apply online is 16th June 2025, so don’t wait until the last minute!

Selection Process

  • Written Test: The written test will be conducted at the following eleven centres: New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram.

Note: ISRO reserves the right to cancel or change any test centre and may reallocate candidates to a different venue if required. Admit cards for the written test will be sent only to the candidates’ registered email IDs.

Pattern of the Written Test

The written test will be a single objective-type paper divided into two parts — Part ‘A’ and Part ‘B’, with a total duration of 120 minutes (extra time will be given to PwBD candidates, as applicable).

Part ‘A’ – Discipline/Subject Specific Section

  • 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Each question carries 1 mark
  • Negative marking: -1/3 mark for each wrong answer

Part ‘B’ – Aptitude/Ability Test

  • 15 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Total marks: 20
  • No negative marking

Interview Process

  • Shortlisting for Interview: Based on written test performance, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates in total).
  • Reserved Category Shortlisting: For reserved vacancies, separate/additional candidates will be shortlisted in a maximum 1:5 ratio, without considering those already shortlisted under the unreserved (UR) category.

Qualifying Criteria

Tie-Breaker Criteria In case of a tie in final marks, the following tie-breakers will be applied sequentially:
1. Higher marks in the Written Test
2. Higher marks in the essential qualification
3. Older candidates (by Date of Birth) will be placed higher

 

Other Conditions / Instructions:

  • The appointees can be posted at any Centre or Unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) / Department of Space.
  • They may also be transferred to any such Centre or Unit at any time, based on organisational needs.
  • The number of vacancies mentioned is provisional. ISRO reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies as required.
