GATE 2022 Important Update
GATE also referred to as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is one of the biggest All India based exam which is conducted each year. Also, foreign candidates are allowed to appear for this exam. GATE exam is highly preferred by most of engineering graduates as it opens multiple gateways to pursue higher studies (M.Tech, MS) or build a career in reputed public sector organizations (PSU’s).
Last year i.e., GATE 2021 was organized and conducted by IIT Bombay and several new changes were introduced like Multiple select questions (MSQ’s), two new streams were added and the students were allowed to appear in two papers along with the biggest change in the eligibility criteria that made more students eligible to appear for the exam.
After conducting GATE 2021, IIT Bombay released the result amidst the pandemic in the month of March. Before students could think of anything further or PSU’s could start their recruitment process due to the wide spread of pandemic lockdown was imposed again nationwide. While the aspirants who have successfully cleared GATE 2021 are waiting to explore the opportunities once the pandemic is under control, there is another important update that has come as a surprise for all GATE 2022 aspirants.
GATE 2022 Important Update
IIT Bombay which conducted GATE 2021 has handed over the responsibility to IIT Kharagpur to conduct GATE 2022 examination. As per the sources Subhasis Chaudhri, director of IIT Bombay, handed over the chairmanship of NCB-GATE 2022 to Virendra Singh Tewari, director of IIT Kharagpur.
One more important update has come up from the sources that GATE 2022 Examination will include two new engineering papers – Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Geomatics Engineering, the Education Ministry has informed. However, no information has been updated on the official IIT website.
Below is the list of the streams for which GATE Exam is conducted till date and year wise list of IIT’s conducting the GATE examination.
