Selected candidates will undergo one year of training with a pay scale of ₹30,000-₹1,20,000/- (IDA) plus HRA and perks at 12% of basic pay. After successful completion, they will be appointed as Assistant Engineers (E0 level) in the same pay scale. Upon regularization, the compensation package includes Basic Pay, HRA or Company Quarters, Allowances, Performance Pay, and Terminal Benefits like Provident Fund, Gratuity, Pension, and Medical Benefits. Additional perks include conveyance reimbursement, insurance coverage, mobile/digital allowances, and medical facilities for self and dependents, as per company policies. |

Relaxation and Concessions
- Reservation/ Relaxation/ Concession to candidates belonging to reserved categories including PwBD shall be as per Government of India directives.
- Candidates with a minimum of 40% disability relevant to the specified category will be eligible for the PwBD benefits. Individuals seeking concessions, relaxations, or reservations under the PwBD category must upload their disability certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
- Relaxation in Marks in essential qualification: Qualifying Marks in essential qualification is relaxed to pass marks for posts reserved for the respective category.

- Reservation/ Relaxation / Concession (for the posts reserved for respective category) will be subject to:
a) | For OBC(NCL) | OBC candidates must submit a copy of their latest OBC (NCL) certificate, formatted as prescribed by the Government of India, at the time of application and during the interview, if called. The certificate must be based on income for the financial years 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024, and should be issued on or after April 1, 2024. |
b) | For EWS |
Candidates must submit a copy of the latest Income and Asset Certificate issued by a competent authority at the time of application and during the interview, if called. To be eligible for the Economically Weaker Section reservation, candidates must meet the criteria set by the Central Government and possess the required certificate based on income for the financial year 2023-2024, issued on or after April 1, 2024. |
c) | For SC/ ST | Submission of relevant Caste Certificate in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority. |
d) | For PwD/PwBD | Submission of disability certificate in prescribed format issued by the Government Medical Board. |
e) | Ex-Servicemen / DESM | Candidates must submit a discharge certificate and other required documents in the prescribed format from a competent authority. Ex-servicemen may use service experience deemed equivalent to the required qualifications, provided they submit a certificate from the Armed Forces confirming this equivalence. Without this certificate, their application will not be considered. |
f) | Victims of riots | Submission of relevant Age relaxation cum Domicile certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Competent Authority. |
- It is recommended that candidates provide a certified translation of their Caste/Category certificate in Hindi or English upon request for document verification, in the event that it was issued in a language other than Hindi or English.
- Wherever posts are not reserved for SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ EWS/ PwBD, candidates belonging to such categories can apply subject to meeting the general standards of eligibility.
Selection Process
- The selection process includes:
- Normalized marks (out of 100) from the corresponding GATE 2024 paper.
- Behavioural Assessment.
- Group Discussion (GD).
- Personal Interview.
- Eligible candidates must qualify and secure a valid score in the corresponding GATE 2024 paper.
- Candidates will be shortlisted for GD and Interview based on their normalized GATE marks, according to management criteria.
- Candidates can choose to conduct the GD and Interview in either Hindi or English.
- Candidates can check their status via the candidate login in the Online Application System.
- Shortlisted candidates will download their interview call letters and relevant documents from the candidate login.
- Candidates selected for the GD and Interview must bring the documents specified in their call letter.
Candidates must qualify in the Personal Interview in order to be considered for empanelment. The qualifying % in interview for different categories is as mentioned below:

Empanelment of Candidates:
- Shortlisted candidates for the Group Discussion (GD) and interview may undergo a Behavioural Assessment, the results of which will be considered during the interview.
- Only candidates who qualify in both the GATE 2024 and the Personal Interview will be deemed suitable for empanelment.
- Only GATE 2024 scores (normalized marks out of 100) are valid for this recruitment process; GATE scores from 2023 or earlier are not acceptable.
- Suitable candidates will receive appointment offers based on requirements and category-specific merit. In the case of a tie in scores, the candidates will be sorted according to their birthdate, starting with the oldest.
- Selected candidates will be notified through their login in the Online Application System.
- The appointment is subject to candidates passing a Pre-Employment Medical Examination, conducted per POWERGRID’s standards and norms of medical fitness.
- Upon joining PowerTel, candidates will not have any claims for absorption or employment with POWERGRID or any of its subsidiary or joint venture companies.

Important Instructions for Registration / Application
Online Registration:
- Interested and eligible candidates must register online at the POWERGRID website https://www.powergrid.in
- Candidates need to provide their GATE-2024 Application No., GATE 2024 Registration Number, and other required details.
- Enter the GATE Registration No. as it appears on the GATE-2024 Admit Card/Score Card. No changes to the GATE-2024 Registration Number or Name will be accepted after submission.
Application Submission:
- Only online applications will be accepted.

- Keep the given mobile number and email address active for a minimum of one year, as these are necessary for obtaining information during the hiring process.
Submission Confirmation:
- After completing the form, click the Submit button to send it in. Upon submission, a unique Registration Number will be generated.
Application Limitations:
- Applicants should only apply for a single position. Applications may be revised or edited up until the deadline for submission. Revisions will not be accepted after the deadline.

Document Upload:
- Candidates should upload clear copies of the required documents in the designated space during the online application. Those called for Document Verification must bring the original documents for verification.
- Candidates must bring a valid original photo ID, GATE 2024 admit card, and scorecard to the interview. Photocopies of the ID are not acceptable, and entry will be denied without these documents.
General Information
- Eligibility: Only Indian nationals aged 18 years or above are eligible to apply for POWERGRID positions.
- Provisional Nature of Candidature: The candidature at all stages of the selection process will remain provisional.

For grades or CGPA, conversion to percentage will follow the procedure certified by the university. If no such system exists, CGPA will be converted by dividing it by the maximum CGPA and multiplying by 100.
- Management Rights: Management reserves the right to modify, cancel, or change the recruitment process without further notice.
- NOC for Government/PSU Employees: Candidates employed in government or PSUs must submit a “No Objection Certificate” at the time of the interview.
- OBC (NCL)/EWS Category: Candidates claiming OBC (NCL) or EWS reservation must belong to the respective category as of the last date of online application submission and must have a valid certificate.
- Age and Qualification Calculation: Age and qualification calculations will be made as of the closing date of the online application.
- Bank Details for TA Payment: Candidates must provide bank details (A/C No, Bank Name, Branch, IFSC code) in the online application for TA payment, if applicable.
