BPCL Recruitment 2023 for Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship
BPCL, Kochi Refinery in Ambalamugal, Kochi, invites engineering graduates (passed during 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023) for one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973.  Educational Qualification for BPCL Recruitment 2023
Full-time engineering degree course in a relevant discipline from a recognized Indian university with 60% marks. 50% marks relaxation will be granted to candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PwBD.
*Note: Where the university or institute has chosen to use CGPA, OGPA, YGPA, or DGPA for the Engineering Degree Examination and the percentage of marks is not stated on the certificate, the equivalent percentage shall be calculated using the conversion method chosen by the university or institute in question. The candidate is solely responsible for providing documentation of the corresponding percentage or percentage conversion formula that is appropriate to the institute or university at the time of the interview; otherwise, the candidate’s application may be rejected without further consideration.
Age
18–27 years old as of 01.09.2023 (date of birth between 01.09.1996 and 01.09.2005). Relaxation for applicants from the reserved categories in accordance with the rules.
Reservation of Vacancies
Guidelines for the Apprentices Act on Reservation will be followed for SC, ST, and PwBD. Those who are claiming the reservation have to represent the certificate of reservation approved by the government. Candidates claiming the OBC category (non-creamy layer) have to show the certificate issued by the authority of the tahsildar. An applicable certificate has to be shown during the interview.
Duration of Training
Apprenticeship training will last one year, according to the Apprentices (Amendment) Act of 1973.
Previous Training/ Experience
Candidates who have earlier or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973, or have earlier experience are not eligible.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on their marks in the engineering degree examination. The final merit list would be created based on the marks earned in the qualification examination and interview in the categories of general, SC, ST, OBC, or PwBD. The chosen candidates must pass the medical exam in order to be hired for apprenticeship training.
PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
Students who have previously enlisted in the National Web Portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) and have login credentials:
- Login
- Click Establishment Request Menu
- Click Find Establishment
- Upload Resume
- Choose Establishment name
- Type “Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Kochi Refinery” and search
- Click Apply
- Click apply again
*Note: The percentage of marks in the engineering degree examination is mandatory. Hence, candidates are advised to compulsorily enter the percentage of marks in the column “% of Marks/CGPA in the NATS portal. If % of marks is not furnished, candidature will not be considered.
For students who have not yet enrolled in the National Web Portal:

- Click Student
- Click Student Register
- Complete the application form
- A unique enrollment number for each student will be generated.
After completing the Enrolment
Step 2: Â
- Login through the unique enrollment number
- Search “BHARAT PETROLEUM CORPORATION LTD, KOCHI REFINERY” under Apply against  advertised vacancies
- Click Apply (you were successful in applying for the vacancy)

Miscellaneous Details
- No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible.
- Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. is not obligated to offer employment to any apprentice, nor can any apprentice claim employment after the successful completion of their apprenticeship.
- INCOMPLETE OR ERRONEOUS ONLINE APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE DUE DATE WILL BE REJECTED.
- No further communication in this regard will be entertained.
- The Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) and BPCL have not entrusted or authorized any individual organization to coordinate or liaison their work. Candidates should beware of touts and fake sites, and BOAT/BPCL is not responsible for such campaigning.
- Canvassing through any source will disqualify the candidature, and their name will be removed from the official records without prior intimation. This Board will not be responsible for such cases.
- Everything else being equal, preference will be given to erstwhile Kochi Refinery project evictees.
- The number of positions mentioned above is indicative and may increase or decrease at the absolute discretion of the corporation.
- Persons employed with government or Semi-Government Organizations/Public Sector Undertakings should submit their NOC at the time of interview.
- The management reserves the right to call for interviews only those who, in its opinion, are likely to be Management may, at its discretion, raise or relax the eligibility standard to restrict the number of candidates or to make available sufficient numbers of candidates to be called for interviews.
- At any point (i.e., even after joining), if found ineligible as per the given criteria, the candidature can be terminated with immediate effect.
- Candidates enrolled in the portal gov.in/nats.education.gov.in will only be considered for the selection process, and no other means or mode of application will be accepted.
