MAHARASHTRA STATE ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION CO. LTD. is the largest State Transmission Utility in India. MAHATRANSCO is a corporate entity under the Maharashtra Government that was incorporated under the Company’s Act, in June 2005. After restructuring the Maharashtra State Electricity Board to transmit electricity from its point of generation to its point of distribution.

MSETCL operates a transmission network of 50,631 (CKT KM) of Transmission Lines and 728 EHV Substations with 1,36,698 (MVA) Transformation Capacity. This infrastructure constitutes most of the inter-regional as well as intra-regional electric power transmission system in the State.

MSETCL invites applicants who are talented, dynamic, and professional persons to fill in the 396 vacancies:

*ABBREVIATIONS:- WR– Woman Reservation, SP – Sports Persons, D– Deaf, HH– Hard of Hearing,  OL – One Leg, CP – Cerebral Palsy, LC-Leprosy Cured, Dw– Dwarfism, AAV– Acid Attack Victim,  ASD(M) – Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), SLD – Specific Learning Disability, MI-Mental Illness,  MD- Multi Disability

The number of vacancies and reservations are provisional and any changes will not be notified either in the newspaper, on website or intimated to any candidate.

Pay Scale:

  • The selected candidates will draw a handsome salary in the pay scale ranging ₹ 49210-2165-60035-2280-119315.
  • Additionally, they will be entitled to DA, HRA, Medical Benefit, CPF and Gratuity, etc. as per the Company’s rules. Candidates may also be provided Office Quarter as per Company’s Rules, in lieu of HRA, if required by the candidate and if available.
  • Monthly Gross Emoluments shall be ₹ 84,407/- approximately. The amount is without office accommodation.

Qualification:

Candidates must possess the below mentioned qualifications and work experience:

Note: *These posts are entry-level so no prior experience is required.

  • A Degree should be from a University or Institute in India, established or incorporated under a Central Act or a State Act, or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.
  • The candidate has to acquire the above qualification on or before 24.10.2023. If candidates acquire the above qualification after 24.10.2023 and secure a place in the merit list as per marks obtained in the written test, he will not be considered as eligible for the post/selection.

Age Limit:

 The upper age limit for candidates is as under:

  • The upper age limit is 38 years for an open candidate.
  • The upper age limit is 43 years for Reserved Category including EWS & Orphan Candidate.
  • The upper age limit is 45 years for Persons with Disabilities (Divyang).
  • The upper age limit is 43 years for candidates applying against Sports Quota.
  • The upper age limit for MSETCL candidates is 57 years.
  • As per the School Leaving Certificate, your Date of birth should be mentioned on the application form. The age will be considered as on 24.10.2023 i.e. last date of submission of the application.

Reservation:

  • The candidates applying should be domiciled in Maharashtra state.
  • Candidates claiming the reservation have to submit their Caste certificate and Domicile certificate issued by the authority of GoM.
  • Backward class candidates should be of categories notified by the Maharashtra State.
  • Candidates claiming the benefits of EWS will have to submit an Economically Weaker Section Eligibility Certificate valid for Financial Year 2023-2024 as prescribed in said Government Resolution at the time of document verification.

Methodology of Selection:

  • Written tests (online tests) will be used in the selection process.
  • All the candidates who registered successfully will be called for an Online test without verifying their eligibility. However, candidates should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility criteria before applying. The verification of their certificates/documents/eligibility shall be done before issuing an appointment. If a candidate is found ineligible/not eligible during the verification process appointment order shall not be issued.
  • The Written test will be objective types and structured as mentioned below:

  • Negative marking (i.e., 2.5%) will be deducted for the wrong answer. No negative marking if the question is unattempted.
  • Candidates have to attempt all the above-mentioned topics and must not have zero or less than zero marks in any test. If so, candidates will not be considered for selection though he secured a position in the Merit/ Wait list of selection.
  • The list of selected/ waiting list candidates will be on the company’s website.

  • There will be three preferences given to the candidates in the application form, so you have to select the preferred ones.
  • Every effort shall be made to allot a center from any of the three preferred centers opted for by the candidate.

1. Assistant Engineer(Transmission) ₹ 700 /- ₹ 350 /- Application Fee shall not be applicable to  Divyang persons for whom the post is reserved.
2. Assistant Engineer(Telecommunication)
  • The examination fee shall have to be paid through Internet Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card (Rupay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro)/IMPS/Cash Card/Mobile Wallets.
  • Fees in any mode other than the above will not be accepted. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded for any reason.

How to apply?

  1. Candidates are required to apply online through the link mentioned below. No other means/modes of application will be accepted.
  2. A valid mail ID and personal phone number is required to register yourself.
  3. REGISTER with your Name, Contact details, and Mail ID.
  4. Provisional id and password will be generated which shall be noted down for reference.
  5. Candidates are advised to carefully fill out and verify the details filled out in the online application themselves, as no change will be possible/ entertained after clicking the COMPLETE REGISTRATION BUTTON.

Instructions for appearing for the online test:

  • Candidates are required to download their admit card for the online test from the company’s website by entering their registration credentials.
  • Following are the documents that will be required for the candidates to appear for the online test:
  1. Valid Call Letter for the On-line Examination
  2. Color passport-size photo (Preferably the one uploaded in the application form)
  3. Original Photo ID Proof and Photocopy of the same ID Proof.
    [Ration card and Learner’s Driving License will not be considered.]
  • Candidates reporting late for whatsoever reason i.e., after the reporting time specified on the call letter for the Examination / Test, will not be permitted to take the examination/test.
