Qualifications for NMDC Recruitment 2023

1. Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology. A candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the disciplines as given below can only apply for the post of Executive Trainee in the respective disciplines.

2. All qualifications must be from UGC recognized Indian University/UGC-recognized Indian Deemed University or AICTE-approved courses from Autonomous Indian Institutions/concerned Statutory Council (wherever applicable)
3. Candidates having 05 years of B.E. / B. Tech + ME/M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines shall also be considered.
4. The minimum percentage of marks in the above Degrees shall be 60% of marks in aggregate for Un-Reserved (UR), EWS, and OBC(NCL) categories.
5. For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD category, the minimum percentage of marks in their respective Degrees shall be 50%.
6. For Departmental candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD category, the minimum percentage of marks in their respective Degrees shall be 45%.
7. For Departmental candidates belonging to the Unreserved category and OBC (NCL), the minimum percentage of marks in their respective Degrees shall be 55%.

 

Age Limit

The upper Age limit is 27 years as of the last date of online application as described in point no. 6(b). The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and as per Govt. of India Guidelines for PwBDs/Ex. Servicemen at the maximum age of 27 years. For Departmental candidates (NMDC Limited) age relaxation will be given up to 10 years.

Application Process

1. The eligible candidates should have appeared in the GATE-2022 Test.
2. The candidates who had appeared for GATE-2022 and received their GATE 2022 scorecard may apply online for the NMDC recruitment of Executive Trainees in the above disciplines on the website www.nmdc.co.in (link available on the “Careers” page of the website). The site will be available/ activated from 10.00 AM on 28.06.2023 to 11.59 PM on 18.07.2023.
3. Please ensure that the GATE 2022 Registration Number, which is mentioned on your GATE 2022 Scorecard, is filled up correctly. The name should also be filled up as mentioned in the GATE 2022 Scorecard. No request with respect to the change in any data entered by the candidate will be entertained once the application is submitted successfully.
4. For detailed NMDC Job Notification along with its annexures for the above post, the candidates are advised to visit the Career page of the NMDC website i.e. www.nmdc.co.in. In case of any clarifications, typographical errors or omissions, Corrigendum, etc. the notification shall be issued in the above NMDC Website only.
5. Candidates are required to fill in all the details online and upload all the relevant documents/ certificates as per the requirement of the NDMC Job Notification.
6. Helpline email nmdc@jobapply.in will be available between 10 AM and 6 PM on all working days to assist with Technical aspects of online mode.
7. A candidate can apply for one post/discipline only. Candidates applying for more than one post/discipline will not be considered.
8. Before applying online mode, candidates are advised to read the instructions of the Notification carefully and will ensure that they must fulfill the essential requirements of the post and other conditions as mentioned in the Employment Notification, which will be available on the NMDC website as mentioned at 6.0(d) above.
9. An amount of ₹ 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) is to be paid by all the candidates as an application fee which is non-refundable.
10. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen categories and Departmental Candidates of NMDC limited applying for the post will be exempted from paying the Application Fee. Proof for fee exemption is to be attached as stated at point no.15.11(A). In the absence of the above certificate or fee payment details his/her application will be rejected.
11. The payment can be made by using UPI/credit card/online net banking through SBI Collect using Internet Banking integrated with the online application. Transaction charges, if any, will be borne by the candidate. On successful completion of the transaction, an application form with the Unique Transaction number and application number will be generated which is to be printed for record. If the candidate does not receive the application form with the Unique Transaction number his/her online application will not be considered complete and he/she will have to make payment again. Failed transaction will be automatically refunded to the same account from which payment was originally made, within 10 working days.
12. Application fee once paid will not be refunded OR adjusted against any further notifications, also in case of cancellation of the notification for which application fee paid.
13. Before applying for their online application, candidates are advised to keep a soft copy of the documents i.e. (i) a recent passport-size photograph (ii)10th certificate (iii)Certificates in support of Qualification (iv)Caste/Category Certificate, SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/Disability Certificate, etc. as applicable (v)GATE-2022 Score Card with the registration number (vi) Mobile No., (vii) email id (viii) Scanned signature, etc.
14. After applying “online”, the candidate is required to download the hard copy of the filled-in application form and keep the printout of the Application form which will be generated by the system after a successful registration.
15. Call letters/admit cards will be sent through post/email. Call letters/admit cards can also be generated from the Careers page of the NMDC website. NMDC Limited will not be responsible for any loss of email sent due to an invalid/wrong email id provided by the candidate or postal delay/non-receipt of information by post. Only those candidates will be allowed to appear for Group Discussion & Interview who will produce valid call letter /admit card.
16. Candidates are required to mention their date of birth and name as per the 10th-class certificate issued by the recognized Board.
17. Please ensure that the GATE 2022 Registration Number, which is mentioned on your GATE Score card, is filled up correctly. No request with respect to the change in any data entered by the candidate will be entertained once the application is submitted successfully.
18. The candidates will be issued a call letter / admit card based on their declaration in the Online application. Mere issue of call letter /admit card does not indicate that the eligibility of the candidate has been confirmed. The eligibility of the candidate will be confirmed after Document Verification at the time of the Group Discussion & Interview.

Mode of Selection

Eligible candidates must have appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2022). Based on the GATE 2022 marks and requirements, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise, and category-wise for the further selection process (GD & Interview). The final merit list will be prepared based on the following weightage of marks. Please note that for NMDC Recruitment for Executive Trainee, GATE marks of 2022 will only be valid and GATE Score of 2021 or prior to that is not valid.

Ratio of Candidates to Be Called for Group Discussion & Interview

The candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Interview based on the marks secured in GATE 2022 discipline-wise, category-wise in the ratio of 1:10 which is on the basis of the marks obtained in GATE 2022. In case two or more candidates in the same discipline and category secured equal marks in GATE 2022 and the ratio of 1:10 is increasing, all those candidates who secured equal marks will be called for Group Discussion & Interview irrespective of the above ratio.

 

Group Discussion & Interview

1. Based on GATE 2022 Score Card, candidates will be called for the Group Discussion and Interview discipline-wise & category-wise in a ratio of 1:10.
2. The Group Discussion Committee will conduct the group discussions of the candidates. The topic for Group discussions shall be decided by the Group Discussion committee in advance. The topic for GD may be either discipline-specific or general.
3. Group discussions will be held discipline-wise & category-wise in batches. The number of candidates in each batch will be decided depending on the number of candidates turning up for Group Discussion.
4. Candidates will be called for Interview, discipline-wise in the ratio prescribed above.

 

Training & Probation

Candidates selected as Executive Trainees will be placed on training for one year. After successful completion of training the candidates shall be placed under probation for one year.

 

Placement

The selected candidates shall undergo one-year training at various places. The selected candidates will be posted in any of the Mines/Units/Offices of NMDC Limited. as per requirements. They may be assigned jobs/functions/assignments as per the business requirement of the Company.

 

Health

Before joining, candidates will have to undergo Pre-Employment Medical Examination by NMDC-recognized hospital(s), and the decision of NMDC Management will be final and binding. No relaxation in health standards is allowed.

 

Emoluments

The Executive Trainees will be offered Basic Pay of ₹ 50,000/- plus Dearness Allowances (IDA) as per the rules of the Company. On successful completion of training of one year, the Executive Trainees will be designated as Assistant Managers in the scale pay of ₹ 60,000-1,80,000/- and initial Basic Pay will be fixed at ₹ 60,000/- per month.

On successful completion of training, they will be entitled to the Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, perquisites under Cafeteria Approach, PF, Gratuity, PRP, and other allowances and benefits as applicable as per the rules of the Company.

Being direct NMDC recruitment, the Company will not bear any liability on account of Salary/leave salary/pension contribution, etc. of previous employment, if any.

 

Verification of Documents with Originals

The candidates who will be called for GD & Interview are required to produce original documents/testimonials, along with self-attested photocopies, in support of Age, Qualification, GATE 2022 Score Card, Caste(SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex-servicemen) certificates, NMDC Application form, etc. for verification of their eligibility as per notification at the time of GD & Interview. In case the candidate(s) do not produce/submit the required documents before attending for Group Discussion & Interview, the candidate(s) will not be permitted to attend GD & Interview and Travelling Allowance will not be reimbursed. The decision of NMDC Management is final in this regard.
