About APTRANSCO:
Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board established in 1959 was the caretaker of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity. (Under Electricity Sector Reforms agenda, Government of Andhra Pradesh proclaimed Andhra Pradesh Electricity Reforms Act,1998). The past APSEB was unbundled into one Generating Company (APGENCO), One Transmission Company (APTRANSCO), and Four Distribution Companies (APDISCOMs) as a component of the change cycle.
APTRANSCO was launched on 1.02.1999 and from Feb 1999 to June 2005 APTRANSCO stayed as a Single purchaser in the state-Purchasing power from different power Generators and offering it to DISCOMs as per the terms and guidelines of the individual PPAs at Bulk Supply Tariff (BST) rates.

What is APTRANSCO Exam?
Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh also referred to as APTRANSCO, conducts an examination each year to recruit engineering graduates in order to contribute to their growth. The recruitment is majorly for the post of AEE (Assistant Executive Engineers).
The selection of the candidates is done through a written exam organized by the concerned authority.
The exam pattern compromises 100 questions of 1 mark each without any negative marking. Talking about the structure of the exam, it is further divided into two parts.
- Core Academic Questions (Related to the Engineering discipline) – 70 Marks
- Analytical Aptitude – 30 Marks
Eligibility Criteria for APTRANSCO Exam:
Age Limit: Candidate shall not be more than 42 years of age. The upper age limit will be relaxed up to 5 years in respect of SC/ST/BC candidates and up to 10 years in respect of P.H candidates.
Educational Qualifications:
For the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE, Electrical) aspirants must possess BE/ B.Tech / A.M.I.E, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or equivalent qualification in a similar discipline from any recognized University in India on a regular basis.

Aptransco Execution of Bond
- The candidates appointed will be required to execute a Bond (in Non-Judicial stamp paper worth Rs.110/- (Rupees One hundred and ten only) at the time of joining, to serve APTRANSCO for a MINIMUM period of 5 Years after completion of Training-cum-Probation period (2 years).
- During the above bond period, the candidates will deposit his/her original certificates such as Degree, date of birth and community, etc. with APTRANSCO. The Certificates so deposited with APTRANSCO shall not be returned during the above bond period.
- The Candidate who leaves the APTRANSCO service during the Training-cum Probation period shall refund the emoluments received by him/her plus Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty thousand only) by way of liquidated damages.
- The Candidate who leaves the APTRANSCO service without serving a minimum period of 5 years after completion of Training-cum-Probation period shall have to pay a sum of Rs.60,000/- (Rupees sixty thousand Only) by way of liquidated damages to the Corporation
APTRANSCO Pay Structure and T&C of Service
- Scale of Pay: Rs.60155-2485-65125-2900-79625-3335-92965
- Training cum Probation: The candidates appointed to the post shall be placed on Training-cum-Probation for a period of 2 years.
- Place of posting: The candidates appointed shall be required to work at the substations of APTRANSCO for a minimum period of 3 years.
- The candidate will be governed by the rules and regulations applicable or as framed by the AP Transco and as amended from time to time. The Tripartite Agreement entered into between the APSEB, Govt of A.P, and the Employees Associations is not applicable to these candidates and they shall at no stage be entitled to claim any right whatsoever arising out of the said Tripartite Agreement.
