Recruitment of Project Engineers

BEL Recruitment 2021-22: Bharat Electronics Limited, a Navratna Company, and India’s Premier Professional Electronics Company under the Ministry of Defence require the following personnel on a contract basis for its Naval Systems SBU, Bengaluru Complex, and Sonar Development & Support Centre –Kochi.

The positions are for various locations i.e., Portblair, Gurgaon, Kochi, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Vizag, Chennai, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Candidates who are willing to travel extensively and are willing to be positioned at different locations may apply.

Eligibility Criteria

a) NATIONALITY: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

e) Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to enclose a copy of the necessary certificate(s) along with the application and submit it in original at the time of interview and at any subsequent stage of the process for verification.

f) The EWS / Caste / Disability Certificate should be strictly in the format available on the BEL website failing which, candidates will be considered under the ‘General’ category, provided they are otherwise meeting all other criteria stipulated for General Candidates.

Terms of Engagement and Remuneration 

  1. The Project Engineer will be engaged initially for a period of THREE years which may be extended up to a maximum of ONE year (Maximum tenure of 4 years) based on project requirement and individual performance. Candidates will be paid a consolidated remuneration per month of Rs.40,000/-, Rs.45,000/-, Rs.50,000/- and Rs.55,000/- for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year of contract respectively.
  2. In addition to the consolidated remuneration indicated above, the consolidated amount of Rs.12,000/- per year will be paid towards expenses like insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching charges, footwear allowance, etc. in two equal installments. The first installment will be processed in the first month’s salary after joining and the second installment will be paid after completion of 6 months from the date of joining.

Educational Qualification

  1. Candidates should have obtained 55% & above in the indicated qualification for General, OBC, and EWS candidates and Pass Class for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
  2. Candidate must possess all years/semester marks sheet and degree certificate. (In the case of CGPA grading, a conversion certificate to substantiate the claim shall be attached and has to be indicated in the application form.
  3. In case there is no mention of specialization in the qualifying degree as required in the minimum essential educational qualification, candidates are required to submit a certificate at the time of interview from their University/Institute with a clear mention of their specialization in the qualifying degree.
  4. Candidates having part-time or correspondence courses in indicated qualifications are not eligible to apply.
  5. Candidates having indicated qualifications with other disciplines will not be considered.

Post Qualification Experience (as on 01.12.2021)

Candidates with minimum of 2 years and above relevant post-qualification industrial experience will be eligible to apply for the post of Project Engineer.

A) Electronics:

Essential:
  • Cisco network equipment, network troubleshooting, and configuration.
  • Cisco routers, switches, voice gateways, other networking devices, routing protocols, application services, etc.
  • Security solutions including firewalls, antivirus solutions, intrusion detection systems
  • VOIP and Video conference infrastructure and its associated software including call management systems & voice mails.
  • Installations and configuration of hardware/software of HP servers, Storage & Network devices.
  • Maintenance of VSAT devices like BUC, MODEM & Antennas.
  • Network management solutions: Network fault management, network performance.
  • Network traffic analysis.
  • Windows & Linux operating systems
  • Oracle database.
  • Following cisco certification will be added advantage: – Cisco Certified Network Analysis (CCNA), Microsoft certified solutions expert (MC SE)
Desirable:
  • Experience in maintaining data center.
  • Cisco Networking devices, HP servers, VSAT networks

For Project Engineer – I, Post Code: PE-I (D&E-CS)

Electronics:

Essential:
  • Minimum one year experience in designing electronic equipment in any electronics industry.
  • Work experience in embedded system design & RF communication systems.

Mechanical:

Essential:
  • Minimum one year experience in designing electronic equipment in any electronics industry.
  • Work experience in Mechanical design using auto cad or any 3D modeling software.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with ay ERP systems.
  • Ready to work in shifts and travel anytime for supporting installation activities.

For Project Engineer – I, Post Code: PE-I (SDSC)

Computer Science:

Essential:
  • Programming in C/C++ with QT framework.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming, UML diagrams
  • Basic understanding of LINUX & Windows OS.
  • Knowledge of network tools/ Socket Programming
  • Familiarity with the software engineering process.
Desirable:
  • Experience in software development for embedded systems.
  • Experience in IV & V.
  • Experience in IEEE-Std-12207 software documentation.

Please note the following:

  1. Candidate applying for Project Engineer should possess the requisite number of years and hands-on post qualification experience as mentioned at point No.5.1.
  2. One year of completed Apprenticeship training will be considered as experience.
  3. The Cut-off date for deciding the maximum permissible age and experience (Post Qualification Experience) shall be 01.12.2021. In order to compute post qualification experience starting from the month immediately succeeding the month of the final examination in which candidate acquire the essential educational qualification shall be considered. Wherever specific relevant experience is prescribed, Experience certificates / Documents issued by the employer clearly indicating the specific area of experience should be enclosed.
  4. Academic / Teaching experience / Research work/ will not be considered as relevant work experience.
  5. Candidate should possess Experience certificates/Documents issued by the previous and present employer clearly indicating period of employment and post held.
  6. Candidates are required to enclose a separate write-up describing the relevant post qualification experience gained/held by them.

 

Selection Process

  1. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria as specified in the advertisement w.r.t. Qualification and Experience will be accepted.
  2. A merit list will be prepared, based on the aggregate percentage obtained in BE/B Tech/ B Sc. Engg -4 years course and relevant work experience will be allotted weightage as indicated below:

Relevant Post Qualification Experience: 2.5 marks will be allocated for the minimum experience stipulated for the post. An additional 1.25 marks will be allocated for every completed experience of 6 months subject to a maximum of 10 marks. 10 Marks
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interviews based in the above criteria in the ratio of 1:5. Only those candidates who are shortlisted will be called for the interview.
Interview: Interview for the shortlisted candidates (Video – Based) 15 Marks
Total Marks 100 Marks

 

  1. In case any University / Institute follows an evaluation system of CGPA / DGPA / OGPA or letter grade, the candidate, wherever applicable, is mandatory for the candidate to submit a percentage (%) conversion certificate issued by the university/institution and awarded class along with the application.
  2. The names of candidates shortlisted for interviews will be available on our Company’s website (bel-india.in).
  3. Candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview will receive interview calls only by email.
  4. The interview will be contacted through Video-based and separate instructions for the interview will be provided in the Interview call letter to the short-listed candidates.
  5. The results of the final selection will be made available on the BEL website.
  6. Provisional appointment order will be issued to the selected candidates by email.

  5. Conversion formula for conversion of CGPA / DGPA / OGPA or letter grade to percentage marks & awarded class, duly certified by the University / Institution, wherever applicable.
  6. A copy of the latest OBC certificate / a copy of SC/ST/EWS certificate.
  7. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for OBC candidates issued on or after 01.07.2021.
  8. The Caste / EWS / Disability Certificate should be strictly in the format available on the BEL website failing which, candidates will be considered under the ‘General’ category, provided they are otherwise meeting all other criteria stipulated for General Candidates.
  9. ‘No Objection Certificate’ if employed in PSU / Government / Quasi-Government and Public Sector undertakings.
  10. Experience Certificate/s: relevant Post qualification work experience certificate/s from previous/current employer. Where the current employment certificate is not produced, the Offer of current appointment, Employee ID proof, and latest payslip should be compulsorily attached as proof for our verification.

You have to select the SBI branch in the payment option and download the pre-printed challan generated through SBI Collect and deposit the application fee (as applicable) plus applicable bank charges in any SBI Branch. The candidate should ensure to obtain the seal and signature of the bank official.
  8. Payment receipt should be attached to the hard copy of the Application form along with other enclosures.

General Conditions

9.1 Before applying for the post, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfill the eligibility mentioned in the advertisement.

9.2 Request for change of category (GEN/OBC/EWS/SC/ST) once declared in the application will not be entertained.

9.3 In the event of any applicant has litigated with his/her employer in the past, the same should be clearly mentioned in brief.

9.4 Candidates employed in Govt./Quasi Govt. and Public Sector Undertaking are required to submit the application through the proper channel or produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ along with the application without which such candidate will not be considered for the selection process.

9.5 BEL reserves the right to change (cancel/modify/add) any of the criteria, method of selection, number of posts; indicated above based on the actual requirement at the time of selection.

9.6 Applications that are incomplete, not in the prescribed format, not legible, without the required / mandatory enclosures/attachments will be summarily rejected without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. There will be no separate communication to any candidates on their non-consideration at any stage of the selection process.

9.7 The above opening is for Bharat Electronics Limited, D&E/CS department, and SSI department of Naval Systems(S&CS) SBU ad Sonar Development & Support Centre-Kochi, to be posted across India i.e. Portblair, Gurgaon, Kochi, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Vizag, Chennai, Mumbai, and Bangalore. However, the selected candidate may be required to serve in other location/s also, if need arises, as per Company’s requirement.

9.8 Candidates are required to provide their one valid e-mail ID which is to be mentioned in the application form. 9.9 Appointment of the provisionally selected candidate will be subject to being found ‘Medically Fit’ by the Company’s medical authorities as per the medical fitness standards laid down by the Company. The candidate who is called to report on selection should get himself/herself medically examined by a Civil Surgeon/Asst. Civil Surgeon and submit the medical report as per the requirement of the Company.

9.10 The admission at all/any stage of the selection process will be purely provisional. Mere issue of interview call to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been cleared by BEL. BEL reserves the right to debar/disqualify any candidates at any stage of the selection process for any reason whatsoever. Mere applying for the post shall not be deemed as selection.

9.11 Please ensure that the applicant fulfills all the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the advertisement. In case the applicant fails to meet any of the eligibility criteria as stated in the advertisement for the post, his/her candidature will be canceled at any point of the selection process. The decision of the management in this regard would be final. The candidate must go through all instructions and eligibility criteria carefully before submission of the Application fee.

9.12 Selected candidates are required to be covered under a medical insurance scheme for a sum of Rs.2 lakhs per annum and submit the same on joining.

9.13 Shortlisting of candidates will be carried out purely based on the information declared by the candidates in the application form. If at any further stage of selections, it is found that candidates have declared false information w.r.t. their credentials, BEL reserves the right to debar them at any stage of selection/terminate their Employment.

9.14 BEL reserves the right to debar the candidates at any stage of the selection process, if the candidature is not found suitable.

9.15 Candidates claiming to be belonging to SC/ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD category are required to submit the latest certificate in the prescribed proforma (available on Company’s website www.bel-india.in) issued by the competent authority along with the application. Certificate in any other proforma or issued by an authority other than the Competent Authority will not be accepted.

9.16 Candidates belonging to OBC category should produce the certificate dated on or after 01.07.2021 along with Non-Creamy Layer Certificate.

9.17 In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of clauses in any version of this advertisement other than English, the English version available on the BEL website shall prevail.

9.18 Any resulting dispute arising out of this advertisement including the BEL Recruitment 2021-22 process shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Bengaluru.
