GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna PSU and India’s flagship Natural Gas company integrates India’s all aspects of the Natural Gas value chain (including Exploration & Production, Processing, Transmission, Distribution and Marketing) and its related services. Through the years with it’s large network of trunk pipelines GAIL (India) Limited has shown organic growth in gas transmission. From the cross-country 2300 km Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur pipeline with a capacity to handle 33.4 MMSCMD gas GAIL owns the country’s largest pipeline network. Today the company owns and operates more than 11000 km long cross country natural Gas Pipeline in India having presence in 22 states in the country. It also owns and operates more than 2000 km long LPG pipelines in the country and has the pride to operate one of the world’s longest exclusive LPG pipeline in the country from Jamnagar in Gujarat to Loni in Uttar Pradesh.

Research & Development

In the light of expanding and growing importance of Natural Gas in the country’s energy mix, R&D and Technology Development efforts in the natural gas sector assumes significance. Technologies in deep sea exploration, gas transportation by sea, on-board re-gasification, and coal to gas, gas to liquids (GTL), renewable energy, and application of nano technology and exploitation of Non-Conventional Energy Sources are some of the major technologies which need active pursuit.

1. GAIL Recruitment for Executive Trainee:

Age limit:

The candidates applying for GAIL must be below 28 years of age, however age relaxation is provided to various students based on their categories.

  • An age relaxation of 5 years is provided for SC/ST candidates
  • An age relaxation of 3 years is provided for OBC (NCL) candidates
  • An age relaxation of 10 years is provided for PWD-General, 13 years for PWD-OBC (NCL) & 15 years for PWD-SC/ST.
  • Age relaxation to others are provided as per the govt. rules

Educational Eligibility

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering with minimum 65% Marks from recognized University /Institution.
  • The specific area of engineering varies based on the vacancy available in the organisation.
  • Engineering Degree can be B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engg.
  • Candidates having 05 years B.E / B. Tech. + M.E / M. Tech. integrated dual degree in engineering in relevant discipline shall also be considered.
  • Candidates who have completed their Bachelor degree in Engineering (including 05 years BE/ B Tech + ME/ M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering) or the Candidates who are currently in the final year of their Engineering Degree course (including 05 years BE/ B Tech + ME/ M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering course) are eligible to apply for the post of Executive Trainee in E-2 grade
  • Candidates who are currently in the final year of their Engineering Degree course (including 05 years BE/ B Tech + ME/ M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering course) and belonging to General and OBC (NCL) category must have secured minimum 65% marks in aggregate up to the last semester/ year examination at the time of applying and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category must have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate up to the last semester/ year examination at the time of applying.
  • Selection of candidates who are currently in the final year of their Engineering Degree course (including 05 years BE/ B Tech + ME/ M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering course) will be further subject to obtaining minimum 65% marks in case of General and OBC (NCL) category candidates and minimum 60% marks in case of SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates in their Engineering Degree and submission of Engineering Degree certificate (at least provisional certificate) and mark sheets of all semesters/ years towards documentary proof of having passed the qualifying Engineering Degree examination in relevant discipline/ branch with minimum prescribed percentage of marks

Selection procedure

Eligible candidates will have to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – 2019.

Based on the GATE-2019 score and requirement, candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and/ or Personal Interview for the position of Executive Trainee in the relevant disciplines.

Emoluments

  • Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000/- at the Basic Pay of Rs. 60,000/- during one-year training cum probation as Executive Trainee in E-2 grade. On successful completion of their Training cum Probation Period, they will be absorbed in the same Pay Scale of Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000/- in E-2 grade.
  • Pay and Allowances: Basic Pay as applicable in the grade, Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) at the applicable rates and perks & allowances under cafeteria approach.
  • Variable Pay: Performance Related Pay as per the applicable policy.
  • Other Benefits: Company Accommodation / Leased Accommodation / HRA, medical facility, group insurance, house building advance, conveyance advance, furnishing advance/ PC advance, etc.
  • Superannuation Benefits: Besides Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity and Pension, employees who superannuate from GAIL after rendering a minimum of 15 years of service will also be entitled to Post-Retirement Medical Benefits.

2. Senior Engineers

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering in the streams as specified by the organisation with respect to the vacancies with minimum 65% marks.

Experience:

Minimum 01 (One) year post qualification executive in line experience (including experience as GET/ ET/ MT) related to their branch in plants only of State/Central Government Undertaking(s) and/or Large Private Sector Organization(s) of repute, as an employee of that Plant/ Undertaking/ Organization.

Eligible streams:  Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, Telecom, Environmental Engineering and related fields.

 Age limit:

The age limit is 28 years with age relaxation for some categories

Preference will be given to candidates having in line executive experience in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical Industry.n

2. C&P Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ IT/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Metallurgy / Civil/ Telecommunication with minimum 65% marks.

Preference would be given to candidates having two years MBA with specialization in Materials Management.

Minimum 01 (One) year post qualification executive in line experience (including experience as GET/ ET/ MT) in the Contract & Procurement/ Materials Management/ Stores & Purchase department in State/ Central Government/ Department(s)/ Organisation(s)/ Undertaking(s) and/or Large Private Sector Organization(s)/ Institution(s)/ Company(ies) of repute, as an employee of that Organization.

Preference will be given to the candidates having inline executive experience in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical industry and having experience of working in MM Module of SAP.

 3. BIS Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Computer Science / Information Technology with minimum 65% marks

OR Bachelor Degree with minimum 60% marks and 03 years Masters Degree in Computer Application (MCA) with minimum 65% marks.

Minimum 01 (One) year post-qualification executive in line experience (including experience as GET/ ET/ MT) in BIS functions in State/ Central Government/ Department(s)/ Organisation(s)/ Undertaking(s) and/or Large Private Sector Organization(s)/ Institution(s)/ Company(ies) of repute, as an employee of that Organization.

Preference will be given to candidates having in line executive experience in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical Industry.
