GRID India recruitment 2026 through GATE 2027 has been officially announced for the recruitment to the post of Executive Trainee, E2 level. GRID Controller of India Limited has opened the door to one of the most sought-after power sector careers in the country.

GRID INDIA Limited, one of the Miniratna-I and Schedule A CPSE and a wholly owned Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has invited applications from interested candidates through GATE 2027.

The recruitment will be conducted for the post of Executive Trainee in electrical engineering and computer science. The dates for the commencement of the application window will be notified soon after the declaration of the GATE 2027 results.

What is GRID India?

GRID India is one of the Miniratna, Schedule A central public sector enterprises which is operating under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is one of the national and regional load dispatch centers, which is responsible for the real-time operation of India’s integrated power systems.

GRID India ensures that there is equitable use of the transmission infrastructure, and it has significantly invested in its human capital and towards strengthening the whole power systems faculty by adopting a multidisciplinary approach with state-of-the-art technology.

Furthermore, it operates the National Load Despatch Centre and 5 regional load despatch centers. Currently, the locations of GRID India are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Guwahati and Shillong.

​GRID India ET recruitment 2027: Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidates must have appeared for and qualified for the GATE 2027 exam. The qualifying marks will be determined by the organizing institute.
2. The candidates must be at least 18 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as of 31.07.2027. Candidates must be born on or after 1.08.1999.
3. Candidates must have a degree in BE/B Tech/BSc engineering/integrated dual degree in the relevant subject.
4. For the post of the executive trainee (electrical): candidates must have completed graduation in electrical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, power system engineering or any equivalent stream.
5. For the post of executive trainee (computer science): candidates must have completed graduation in computer science engineering, computer engineering or information technology.
6. The candidate must have secured at least 65% or equivalent CGPA as an aggregate score in the Undergraduation.
7. Final-year candidates are also eligible to apply for ET recruitment through GATE 2027. They must have secured at least 65 per cent as an aggregate score in the pre-final year examination, and their degree must be completed by 14 August 2027.  

Executive Trainee Selection Process

GRID India ET recruitment 2026 does not involve any recruitment test; it is entirely based on the GATE 2027 score. This recruitment is for two papers, i.e., Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Information Technology.

The GATE-2027 score (normalized marks out of 100) is valid for this recruitment process. A GATE score of 2026 or earlier is not valid.

The executive trainee selection process includes the marks obtained by the candidates in GATE 2027, group discussion and personal interview. Candidates must qualify the electrical engineering paper or computer science and information technology paper of GATE 2027.

Candidates shortlisted for GD and PI may also have to undergo Behavioral Assessment, the results of which shall be used only as an input during the interview, and the Assessment will not have any Qualifying Marks. Furthermore, group discussion will not have any qualifying marks.​

The candidates who are shortlisted shall be required to bring the documents, as mentioned in their call letter, at the time of the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

GRID India recruitment: Executive Trainee Salary

GRID India offers a very attractive package to the shortlisted candidates. The corporation provides excellent facilities such as short-term and long-term loans and advances, including house-building advances and medical facilities for self and dependents from time to time.

Executive trainee salary ranges from 50,000 to 160,000 IDA for the period of 1 year for on-the-job training, and other allowances and benefits are also included in the salary.

After the completion of the training period, the trainees are regularized under the E2 level in the pay scale of 50,000-160,000. The training period may be extended based on the performance evaluation or at the discretion of the management.

Other allowances included in the salary are performance-related pay, company-leased accommodation, company quarters or HRA, reimbursement of monthly conveyance expenditure, mobile facility, Group Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance, PF, Gratuity, Pension, Leave encashment, other allowances & benefits, etc., as applicable.
