Age Limit

  • The Upper Age limit is given against each post.
  • The upper age limit in respect of SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Disabilities (minimum 40% disability), and other special categories of persons shall be relaxable as per Govt. Rules and Orders are issued from time to time.
  • The upper age limit in respect of Government Servants, Ex-servicemen, and other special categories of persons are relaxable in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government, from time to time, in this regard.
  • Age relaxation:
  1. Up to 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates for the posts reserved for them
  2. Up to 03 years in case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)) candidates for the posts reserved for them
  3. Up to 10 years for PWD candidates. (15 years for PWD-SC/ST and 13 years for PWD-OBC candidates).
  4. For ex-servicemen, as per rules.
  5. 5 years for serving Central Civilian Govt. employees working in posts which are in the same line or allied cadres and where a relationship could be established that the service already rendered in a particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of the duties of the advertised posts. The decision in this regard will rest with MeitY.

Application Process

  1. Before applying, Candidates are advised to go through this advertisement carefully in detail for determining their eligibility as per laid down criteria for the post.
  2. The candidate can apply only for one stream (Electronics and Communication/ Computer Science) of his/her choice.
  3. The admission at all the stages of the recruitment process will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
  4. Candidates can apply ONLINE at https://recruit-delhi.nielit.gov.in between 20/12/2021 (11:30 a.m.) and 18/01/2022 (5:30 p.m.). No other means/mode of application will be accepted. Candidates are required to have valid e-mail identification and an active mobile number. The procedure/steps for filling up applications online is available at https://recruit-delhi.nielit.gov.in under ‘Instructions for filling Application‟ on the Main Page.
  5. The application shall be treated as complete only if all the steps are completed successfully. In case a candidate is not able to submit the fee successfully by closing date and time, or the application is otherwise incomplete, his/her candidature will summarily be rejected.
  6. The candidate has to specify the choice of the Stream in the Online application for which he/she wishes to apply.
  7. vii. Applicants are required to make sure that “Application Status” in their application is “Submitted Successfully” after submission of application, otherwise the application will be treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.

Application Fee

The applicants shall pay the Application Fee as per the Table below through online payment mode i.e via online application only.

Note* The processing charges towards remittance of Application Fee and service tax, if any, will have to be borne by the candidate. Fee through any other mode like Demand Draft, Pay Order, Cheque, or Challan will not be accepted.

 

Scheme of Written Examination

  • The Written Examination will be Objective type (OMR based) consisting of questions from Technical and Generic Areas. The duration of the written test will be 3 hours.
  • There will be a total of 120 objective-type Questions consisting of 65% of questions from the Technical Area of the respective stream and 35% of questions from the Generic Area.
  • Every Question will carry 1 (one) mark and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
  • The cut-off marks for qualifying for the written examination will be 50% for General and EWS Category candidates, 40% for OBC candidates, and 30% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
  • The cut-off marks specified would be applicable in overall marks ( i.e. Technical and Generic Combined) as well as for each section/area (Technical/ Generic) Separately.
  • Stream-wise Syllabus for the written examination for the post of Scientist ‘B’ is available at https://recruit-delhi.nielit.gov.in.
  • The Generic Area will comprise Logical, Analytical Reasoning Capabilities, Quantitative and Qualitative abilities, and General Awareness and Aptitude.

 

Choice of Centre for Written Examinations and Interview for NIELIT Recruitment 2021:

Candidates shall indicate their choice of Centre for Written Examination from the cities listed below. No change of Centre will be permissible at a later date. NIELIT, however, reserves the right to direct the candidate to appear for a Written Test at any location irrespective of his indicated choice depending upon the number of applications received and the administrative convenience.

Interviews for the post of Scientist ‘B’ shall be conducted only in Delhi.

Selection Process

  1. The final selection of eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Scientist ‘B’ will be based on the combined performance of the candidates both in the written examination and in an interview. The weight-age of marks for written examination and interview will be in the ratio of 85:15. It is mandatory to appear in the interview for selection.
  2. Only the shortlisted candidates based on merit position and reservation policy etc. in the ratio of 1:3 (No. of vacancies: No. of candidates), who have qualified the written examination, will be called for interview.
  3. Verification of requisite documents will be done at the time of the interview for the post of Scientist. ‘B.

Important Instructions

  1. CITIZENSHIP: A Candidate must be either: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  2. The candidates must upload a copy of the Caste/Category Certificate in the formats prescribed by the Government of India. The Certificate for PWD must indicate the percentage of disability while the Certificate for Backward Caste must clearly indicate that the candidate does not belong to the persons/sections (Creamy Layer) mentioned in column 3 of Schedule to the Government of India Department of Personnel & Training O.M. No.36012/22/93-Estt. (SCT) dated 8/9/93 as amended from time to time.
  3. The cut-off date for calculating the age as well as completion of eligibility conditions with regard to essential qualifications and experience if applicable will be the closing date for receipt of the application i.e., 18/01/2022, which will remain unchanged even in case of extension of the closing date for submission of applications.
  4. All correspondences in connection with the recruitment will be made by NIELIT through e-mails/SMS only, the candidates must, therefore, regularly check their registered e-mail ID and Mobile No. Candidates are further advised to visit the website regularly for updates.
  5. NIELIT will not be responsible in case of incomplete transactions during the online payment process. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the correct payment of the application fee has been made successfully. The application fee once paid is non-refundable. Applicants, in their own interest, should check their eligibility for the post before remitting the application fee. Only qualifications mentioned against each stream shall be considered for determining eligibility.
  6. The candidate must indicate his/her primary e-mail ID and active primary Mobile No, in the online application form at the time of registration on which the communication regarding this recruitment process would reach the applicant. The candidate shall submit only one application. Failure to do so may lead to rejection/cancellation of the Applications.
  7. Candidates, at the time of the interview, shall bring the downloaded Interview Call Letter, self-attested copies of the testimonials along with originals of the same. The candidates, without self-attested copies of essential testimonials and their originals, will not be allowed to appear in the Interview.
  8. The final selection of candidates for appointment to the advertised posts will be based on meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria, the performance in the written examination, and in an interview.
  9. Merit List will be prepared stream-wise. For PWD candidates merit list will be prepared irrespective of stream. The offer of appointment would be issued to the candidates in order of Merit and availability of vacancies.
  10. If at any point of time it is found that the information furnished by the candidate was incorrect in any respect or forged /fabricated documents were presented by any candidate, his/her candidature will be canceled and in case the candidate has already joined the post, his services shall be summarily terminated.
  11. Each candidate should affix his/her recent color passport size photograph (of size 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) on White Paper and then append his/her signatures with Blue/ Black Pen in another box of 3.5 cms x 1.5cms below the photograph on the same Paper. Scan the above photo and signature in a single file in JPG format of size not more than 50 KB and upload the same at the appropriate space provided in the online Application Form. Each candidate has to upload a scanned copy of the Signature separately also at the appropriate space. (Max. Size 50 KB).
  12. Candidates have to upload the following documents (in PDF format) along with the online application: a) Date of Birth Certificate (Matriculation/High School/SSC Certificate) (Max Size 250 KB)
  1. Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC), if applicable. (Max Size 250 KB).
  2. EWS Certificate in case of EWS candidates (Max Size 250 KB)
  3. Degree of essential Qualification which makes him/her eligible for applying for the post along with Marks sheet (Max Size 500 KB)
  4. PWD Certificate, if applicable (Max. Size 250 KB)
  5. Photo Identify card (Max. Size 250 KB).

 

  1. The candidates should upload only relevant documents. It should be kept in view that uploading of irrelevant documents may lead to disqualification of the candidature/rejection of the Application Form.
  2. Candidate shall have eligibility qualification complete in all respects by the cut-off date. Qualifications obtained through Open Universities/Distance Education mode that is approved by DEC and wherever necessary, by AICTE, are recognized for the purpose of employment under Central Government vide Gazette Notification No. 44 dated 1st March 1995.
  3. Before final submission of the online Application Form, the candidates must go through the same carefully. It shall be noted that the Incomplete / Incorrect application form will be summarily rejected.
  4. After submitting the ONLINE Application Form, the candidate should take the printout of the Application form having the application number and other details. This application number should be referred in all future correspondence with NIELIT in connection with this recruitment process.
  5. Candidates applying for the post of Scientist ‘B’ and working with Central Govt./ State Govt./PSU/Autonomous bodies have to furnish ‘NOC‟ at the time of interview. The ‘NOC’ should also confirm that no disciplinary/vigilance case is either pending or contemplated.
  6.  Withdrawal of candidature on account of non-furnishing of any information will not confer any right to carry forward or retain the candidature for future recruitment.
  7. No change in particulars shall be permitted and the particulars furnished by the applicant in the online application form will be taken as final.
  8. NO TA/DA shall be paid for attending the written exam and interview.
