The total number of vacancies currently available is 604, which includes 582 for General Recruitment and 22 for Special Recruitment.

Pay Scale:

The Pay Scale for the advertised posts is Level-10, with a salary range of ₹15,600 to ₹39,100.

Age Limit:

Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 40 years on July 01, 2024, i.e. they must have not been born earlier than 2nd July, 1984 and not later than July 01, 2003, as per the UPPSC AE Recruitment 2024 guidelines.

Important Information For Candidates Applying Online

The candidates applying online for UPPSC AE Recruitment 2024 are expected to go through the following instructions thoroughly and apply accordingly.

Notification for Online Application Process

The online application process will be completed in four stages. Below are the detailed steps and instructions for each stage:

First Stage: Apply and Authenticate with O.T.R.

T.R. Authentication

• If you have completed O.T.R. registration:

1. 1. 1. Click “Yes” → Click “Go”.
      2. Enter your O.T.R. Number → Click “Proceed”.
      3. Authenticate by clicking on “Click here to Authenticate”.

• If you have not completed O.T.R. registration:
  1. Click “No” → Click “Go”.
  2. Complete your O.T.R. registration at: https://otr.pariksha.nic.in.

Second Stage: Submit Application Details

1. After completing the first stage, the Applicant Dashboard will appear on the screen.
2. Under “Application Part-2”, click “Submit Details” against the applied post.
3. Your permanent and correspondence address (as per O.T.R.) along with preferential qualification options will be displayed.
4. Select Yes/No against each preferential qualification based on your eligibility.

Third Stage: Fee Payment

Modes of Payment:

1. Net Banking
2. Card Payments
3. Other Payment Modes

After successful payment:

• A Payment Transaction Slip will be displayed.
• Take a printout of the slip for future use.

Fourth Stage: Final Submission

1. After completing the fee payment, the application form will be displayed on the screen.
2. Take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future reference.

Note: The application will only be accepted after successful fee payment.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Preserve Records:
  • Keep a soft/hard copy of information related to all stages (O.T.R., fee payment, final submission, qualification modifications, etc.) for future reference.
• Submission of Hard Copy:
  • When required, candidates must send a hard copy of their application along with self-attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates.
  • A separate press communication will be issued for this purpose.
• Visit the Commission Website for Updates:
  • All future updates will be shared on the Commission’s website.
  • Notifications will also be sent via SMS or email to the registered mobile number and email ID.
• Modifications:
  • In case of any modification in qualifications, candidates can modify details only once by logging into the “Candidate Dashboard” before the last date.

Key Points to Note

1. Candidates are responsible for the accuracy of their online submission.
2. Ensure fee payment is completed within the deadline.
3. The Commission will not entertain claims or discrepancies if the required procedures are not followed.

Application Fee:

After completing the process of First and Second Stage in the online application process, deposit the fee category-wise as per the instructions given in the Third stage. The prescribed fee for the preliminary examination for different categories is as under, according to the UPPSC AE Recruitment 2024.:-

• Unreserved/Economically Weaker Sections/Other Backward Classes: Exam fee ₹100/- plus processing fee ₹25/-
• Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes: Exam fee ₹40/- plus processing fee ₹25/-
• Persons with Disabilities (PWDs): No exam fee; processing fee ₹25/-
• Ex-Servicemen: Exam fee ₹40/- plus processing fee ₹25/-
• Dependents of Freedom Fighters/Women/Skilled Players: Fee applicable as per their original category

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will conduct the Preliminary Examination at various centers to shortlist eligible candidates for the Combined State Engineering Services Main Examination. The Commission will conduct the Main Examination separately, and the final selection will be based on the total marks obtained by candidates in the Main Examination and the Interview. The date and center for the examination, as determined by the Commission, will be communicated to the candidates through their Admission Certificate.

Note:-

Under special circumstances and at the request of the Government, the number of advertised vacancies may be increased or decreased based on specific requirements or situations before the declaration of the preliminary examination results.

Reservation:

• Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Economically Weaker Sections, and Other Backward Classes of Uttar Pradesh will be provided as per the relevant government rules. Additionally, horizontal reservations will be applicable for Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Female Candidates, Ex-servicemen, and Persons with Disabilities (P.H.) of Uttar Pradesh, in accordance with the prescribed regulations.

• The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward classes, Economically Weaker Sections (E.W.S.),Dependents of Freedom Fighter, PH. Skilled players of classified games and Ex-Servicemen candidates who are not the permanent residents of U.P. shall not be given the benefit of reservation/age relaxation.

• In case of women candidates, the caste certificate issued from the father side only will be treated as valid.

Selection Process:

The selection of the candidates will be done in three stages:

1. Preliminary Exam
2. Mains Exam
3. Interview

UPPSC AE 2024 Pattern:

 The preliminary examination will be merely qualifying in which 15 times the number of candidates per post as per the standard set by the Hon’ble Commission will be selected to appear in the second stage (main examination). In this regard, the procedural decisions taken by the Hon’ble Commission from time to time will be effective.

Qualifying Criteria for Prelims

Approximately 15 times the number of vacancies will qualify for the Mains Exam:

15 x 604 = 9,060 candidates

There will be the following two objective type question papers for the Combined State Engineering Service Examination:-

General Knowledge:

The General Knowledge paper in the UPPSC AE Recruitment 2024 will cover current events and such things as are in everyday experience with a focus on their scientific aspects, which may be expected of an educated person. The question paper will also include questions on Indian history, politics, and geography, which the candidates will be able to answer without any special study.

General Hindi:

The syllabus of Hindi will be designed in such a way that the candidate’s understanding of the Hindi language and efficient use of words can be tested. Its level will be high school.
