BEL designs develop and manufacture a range of products in the following fields:

• General: Electronic voting machines, Voter-verified paper audit trail, Traffic signals, Radars, low-cost tablet PC being used in the Socio-economic Caste Census 2011, Biometrics Capturing for Nation Population Register, Encryptors for the Ministry of Home Affairs, IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) secondary radar, SDR and IP radio in multiple frequency bands

• Defense: BEL Weapon Locating Radar, BEL Battle Field Surveillance Radar, Indian Doppler Radar, Samyukta Electronic Warfare System, Central acquisition radar (3D-CAR), Missiles, Akash (missile) in partnership with the Ordnance Factory Board, Sonars, Combined day sight for OFB Arjun MBT, Combat management system for Indian Navy, Solar systems, Naval systems, C4I systems for Air Force

• Communication: Reporter Radar, Telecommunications, Sound and vision broadcasting, Opto-electronics, Composite Communication System (CCS), Radar, Defence communications

Data Link II communications system for the Indian Navy’s P-8I

• Electronics: Information technology, Semiconductors, Fire-control system, Electronic warfare systems, F-INSAS in partnership with the Ordnance Factory Board, Simulators, Tank electronics

Recruitment

Every year the Bharat Electronics Limited recruits engineers for various posts in organizations. Based on the vacancies available the branch as well as the no. Of posts are specified.

1. Contract Engineers

• Educational Qualifications: BE / B Tech in Computer Science/ Computer Science and Engineering from any recognized university or AICTE approved Institution with First Class for GEN/OBC/EWS, and Pass Class for SC/ST/PWD candidates, with one-year post qualification experience. *
• Experience: Minimum One Year in one of the below-mentioned domain experience1. Java programming 2. Web portal design and development using Java 3. VoIP and SIP Protocol 4. DB Design – ORACLE, post GRE SQL; Knowledge of SQL, DB procedures & Triggers 5. IP Networking 6. Linux Operating System
• Age limit: The Maximum Age limit for the post of Engineer is 27 years. However, this upper age limit is only for the General category candidates. There is special age relaxation offered to various categories of students like: (Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST & PHP candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. However, in case of non-availability of candidates in reserved categories it will be filled from other reserved categories/ General categories)
• Selection Procedure: The selection process is based on the written test (objective type question in the respective discipline) and /or interview depending on the number of applications received.
• Salary: Rs. 30,000

2. Engineers: Electronics

• Qualifications: First class for General & OBC Candidates and Pass Class for SC/PWD (Person with Disability) candidates in BE / B. Tech in Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Telecommunication / Communication / Telecommunication / Mechanical Engineering from a AICTE recognised University/ Institution.
• Age: The Maximum Age limit for the post of Engineer is 27 years. However, this upper age limit is only for the General category candidates. There is special age relaxation offered to various categories of students like: (Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST & PHP candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. However, in case of non-availability of candidates in reserved categories it will be filled from other reserved categories/ General categories)
• Experience: Contract Engineer (Electronics): Minimum One (1) year of post-qualification experience as on 01.07.2019 in Information & Technology and Networking (IT&N), Communication Network Domains with knowledge in the areas of Routers, Switches, Servers, Data Centres, CCTV Networking.

Contract Engineer (Mechanical): Minimum One (1) year of post-qualification experience as of 01.07.2019 in Mechanical Design & Engineering of Products / Systems in the areas of CCTV surveillance, Gate Automation, Data Centres.

The upper age limit indicated is for candidates belonging to General Category. The upper age limit will be relaxable by 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC candidates, and 10 years for PWD candidates (having a minimum 40% disability) in addition to the relaxation applicable to OBC/SC candidates.

• Salary: An all-inclusive consolidated remuneration of Rs. 23,000/- per month
• Selection Procedure: Written-test, Face to Face Interview

3. Senior Engineer /Manager

• Qualification: B. E./ B. Tech./ AMIE/ GIETE and/or M.E/M.Tech from AICTE approved College/Institute or a recognised University.

First-class in the indicated qualification for General candidates.

Pass class for ST/PWD candidates.

• Age: For Sr. Engineer: 32 years, for Manager: 40 years

There are some age relations also available for various categories of students:

OBC candidates: 03 Years Age Relaxation

SC/ST candidates: 05 Years Age Relaxation

PWD candidates: Five years in addition to the age limit/relaxation permitted in the respective category

• Selection Process:

For Sr. Engineer:  Selection will be through a Written Test followed by an Interview (only for those candidates who will be shortlisted based on their performance in the written test).

For Manager: Selection will be through Interview only of the eligible applicants

4. Deputy Engineer:

• Educational Qualification: B. E. / B. Tech in Electronics & Communications Engineering from any AICTE approved institution with First Class for General & OBC candidates and Pass for SC/ST/PWD candidates

• Experience: The candidate should have minimum post qualification working experience of 1 year as of 30.06.2019, as an Embedded Engineer in Research Labs / Govt / PSUs / Reputed MNCs / Others.

Apprenticeship training / Teaching experience will not be considered as work experience

• Age Limit (As on 30.06.2019): Maximum age limit is 26 years and relaxation is provided to various category students.

Age Relaxation:

• 5 years for SC/ST candidates
• 3 years for OBC candidates
• 10 years for PWD candidates

5-10 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

• BEL Recruitment Selection Process: The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and interview.

• Scheme of Selection:

Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and whose online application has been accepted will be shortlisted for the Written Test.

Based on their performance in the Written Test, Candidates will be shortlisted for an interview. Selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in both the Written Test and Interview.
