Container Corporation of India Limited

A Navratna Public Sector Undertaking, Container Corporation of India Ltd, was incorporated in 1988 under the companies act. Working under the Indian Ministry of Railways, CONCOR started its operations in November 1989 taking over an existing network of seven inland container depots from Indian Railways.

Every year CONCOR releases vacancies for engineering graduates. They are recruited to various position based on their graduation subject and performance in the examination. In this article we shall discuss about the Container Corporation of India Limited and the details about its recruitment and other necessary information that candidates must know before they join.

CONCORN Training and Development

The induction of the new appointees in CONCOR is accompanies with training, skill development programmes, refresher programmes, career development programmes and technical in- house training programmes. The regular employees too undergo external training on self-development, management and advance skill development. The employees are also nominated for international exposure through foreign training programmes.

A state-of-the-art training facility of CONCOR is also available at at Sector 32, Gurgaon, Haryana. The training centre include two conference halls with a seating capacity of 20 participants each and two common rooms. The conference halls are equipped with training aids like laptops, LCD projector, writing board and other training tools.

CONCOR Recognition and awards

Apart from the perks, the exceptional performing employees in CONCOR as awarded by the Director and Regional & Departmental Heads. Both group as well as individual awards are given to recognise the hard work of employees. For employees participating in extra-curricular activities, awards are given.

These are some of the appointments that are made in CONCOR for various posts.

 

Position Age Limit Qualification
Assistant Supervisor (P&A) 32 years Post-Graduation (PG) with minimum 50% marks and must knowledge in Computer skills.
Sr. Assistant (C&O) 28 years Post-Graduation (PG) with minimum 50% marks and must knowledge in Computer skills.
Sr. Assistant (Accounts) 28 years Post-Graduation (PG) with minimum 50% marks and must knowledge in Computer skills.
Stenographer Grade-I 28 years Post-Graduation (PG) with minimum 50% marks and must knowledge in Computer skills.

 

The pay scale for each position is Rs. 13,220-3%-34320/Month.

Group General Manager Technical

Qualification: SAG/SG Officer of IRSME cadre who has completed minimum 17 years of Group ‘A’ service will be designated as GGM (Technical).

Experience/detailed job description: The officer should have experience in:

  1. a) Installation, Commissioning of machinery & plant or maintenance of machinery & plant or diesel locomotive (shed/workshop/PU) for 03 years.
  2. b) Rolling Stock Diesel Sheds and wagon maintenance.
  3. c) Familiarity with procurement process is desirable.

Age: Below 52 years

Scale of pay of the post: Rs.1,20,000-3%-2,80,000(E-8)/revised IDA scale (as per extant Govt. directive, the officer will draw the salary of the parent department plus deputation allowance)

Mode of Selection:

For the selection, the candidate will be screened by a Screening Committee as nominated by the Competent Authority. The candidate’s suitability will be decided, keeping in view the job requirement. The selection process would comprise of judgment of different facets of Professional Ability, Experience, skills, comprehension, aptitude, etc on a 100 point scale as under:

  1. Professional Ability: 30 marks
  2. Experience: 20 Marks
  3. Seniority: 20 Marks
  4. APAR: 30 Marks

Entry Level Engineer

Selection Process: The Selection process for the post of Entry Level Engineer consists of the following three rounds:

  1. Aptitude written test online
  2. Technical interview
  3. HR interview

Qualification: Any Graduate / Any Post Graduate is eligible to apply for the positions.

Due to the COVID-19 situation Container Corporation of India ltd. has decided to discontinue the Interview for Recruitment to Non-Executive Post with Immediate effect. All recruitment for the said posts will be conducted by way of selection giving 100% weightage to the marks scored by a candidate in the written examination.
