Notification for Engagement of Graduate/Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) Udyogamandal is looking for qualified applicants in the following categories to be paid apprentices under the Apprentices Act:

Category – I Graduate Apprentices

Period of Training: One Year (Pay Rate ₹ 10,000/-Per Month)

Qualification:

Engineering Degree (B.Tech/BE). UGC/AICTE recognized regular course in any of the following discipline:

  1. Computer Engineering/Computer Science & Engineering,
  2. Civil Engineering,
  3. Chemical Engineering,
  4. Mechanical Engineering,
  5. Electrical & Electronics Engineering,
  6. Instrumentation & Control Engineering /Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
  7. Safety & Fire Engineering .

Eligibility:

Engineering degrees must have been completed with a minimum of 60% overall in the qualifying test for general category candidates and a minimum of 50% for SC/ST candidates in the relevant discipline. As of March 31, 2025, the three-year mark following degree completion cannot be exceeded.

BOAT Southern Region Registered KERALA Candidates are only eligible to apply.

Age limit:

Age not more than 25 years as on 01-09-2024. i.e for general candidate’s date of birth should be on or after 02.09.1999, for OBC NCL candidates date of birth should be on or after 02.09.1996, for SC/ST candidates date of birth should be on or after 02.09.1994

Reservation: As per rule.

Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

Period of Training: One Year (Stipend ₹ 8000/- p.m.)

Qualification:

A three-year Diploma in Engineering in any one of following disciplines (State Board of Technical Education recognized regular Course)

  1. Chemical
  2. Computer
  3. Civil
  4. Electrical/Electrical & Electronics
  5. Instrumentation/Instrument Technology/ Electronics & Instrumentation
  6. Mechanical
  7. Commercial Practice

Eligibility:

Diploma in the relevant discipline with a cumulative grade of 60% for general category students and 50% for SC/ST students. The diploma should not have been  completed more than three years prior to March 31, 2025.
Only KERALA Registered BOAT Southern Region Candidates may apply.

Age limit:

  • Age not more than 23 years as on 01-09-2024
  • For general candidates with date of birth on or after 02.09.2001.
  • For OBC-NCL candidates with date of birth on or after 02.09.1998.
  • or SC/ST candidates with date of birth on or after 02.09.1996.

Note : Only applicants from the aforementioned disciplines are eligible to apply. Engineering or diploma degrees in any other field, as well as comparable degrees, will not be taken into consideration.

Instructions to the candidates

  1. Application form for Apprentices available in FACT website www.fact.co.in. should be downloaded and submitted along with Certificates by Registered Post to SM (Training), FACT Training and Development Centre, FACT, Udyogamandal, PIN -683 501 so as to reach on or before 15th Sep 2024. Additionally, all applicants must complete and upload the online Google form by 10th Sep 2024.
  2. A copy of the following documents should be attested and submitted along with the application form.

Category – I Graduate Apprentices

  1. 10th Pass Certificate & Mark list.
  2. 12th Pass Certificate & Mark list
  3. Graduate Certificate & Mark list
  4. Caste Certificate in the case of SC/ST, Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in the case of OBC candidates, and EWS Certificate in the case of Economically Weaker Section candidates (which should be valid as per the date mentioned in the certificate and not issued earlier than 6 months from the date of application by an officer not lower than the rank of a Tahsildar). Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates) from a competent Medical Board. (PwBD candidates will be considered for selection in the Computer Discipline only).
  5. Aadhar card.
  6. Dependency Certificate (Applicable for dependents of FACT Employees).

Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

  1. 10th Pass Certificate & Mark list.
  2. Diploma Certificate & Mark list
  3. Caste Certificate in the case of SC/ST, Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in the case of OBC candidates, and EWS Certificate in the case of Economically Weaker Section candidates (which should be valid as per the date mentioned in the certificate and not issued earlier than 6 months from the date of application by an officer not lower than the rank of a Tahsildar). Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates) from a competent Medical Board. (PwBD candidates will be considered for selection in Computer Discipline and Diploma in Commercial Practice (DCP) only).

Due care should be taken while filling email id and phone number in the application form. Both are essential for future correspondence.

  1. Applications that are not completed, that are received after the deadline, or that do not include the aforementioned certificates may be rejected without prior notification and will not be considered. The certificates which are not original / legible will be liable for rejection without any intimation.
  2. The list of qualified applicants will be made available on our website, www.fact.co.in, and the candidates themselves will get notification via email.
  3. A conversion certificate from their university or board that displays their percentage is required for students who use a CGPA or grade system.
  4. Candidates should register themselves in the online web portal of Board of Apprenticeship Training (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) under ‘Student’ category. BOAT Southern Region KERALA registered candidates are only eligible to apply. The Registration ID and password should be available with the applicants.
  5. The merit list for selection will be prepared based on the following weightage:

a) For Category – I Graduate Apprentices

Weightage: 50% marks in Graduate Examination and 50% marks in 12th standard examination. In the event of a tie in marks, preference will be given to graduation marks. If there is still a tie, marks obtained in math, physics, and chemistry in the 12th standard examination will be considered in order of priority.

b) For Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

Weightage: 50% marks in Diploma Examination and 50% marks in 10th standard. In the event of a tie in marks, preference will be given to diploma marks. If there is still a tie, marks obtained in math and science in the 10th standard examination will be considered in order of priority.

  1. The only candidates to be considered are those who currently reside in Kerala. When joining, the chosen candidates must present the following documentation as well as their Aadhaar card as proof of residence address.
  1. All original certificates mentioned in point 2,
  2. Two sets of attested copy of all documents
  3. 6 nos. of passport size colour photographs.
  4. SC / ST / OBC candidates should produce original, attested copy of caste non- creamy layer certificates. EWS Certificate in the case of Economically Weaker Section candidates
  5. NATS Registration ID. (mhrdnats.gov.in)
  6. Local Police Clearance Certificate issued recently.
  7. Medical Fitness certificate obtained in the prescribed format with valid lab report
  8. Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates) from a competent Medical Board.
  9. Dependents of FACT employees, on joining should bring the dependency certificate Issued from the HR department.)
  1. The stipend amount and period of training will be as per prevailing Apprenticeship Act.
  2. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973 in any Government or Public Sector or Private industrial organizationare not eligible to apply.
  3. Any change/ modification in the above notification will be intimated through the official website www.fact.co.in.
  4. FACT’s decision will be legally binding in all selection-related circumstances. FACT retains the right to reject the notification with no explanation.
