- Candidates will receive a scribble pad at the examination hall itself. The aspirant must write his or her name with the registration number on the scribble pad. One must do this before the candidate starts to use it. Candidates must note that they need to return the first scribble pad before taking the next scribble pad from the exam invigilator. One must return any scribble pad present with them soon after the examination.
- Students appearing for the exam cannot carry mobile phones, watches, or calculators inside the examination hall. It is applicable even if the respective gadgets are in the switch-off mode.
- Apart from this, applicants cannot carry any electronic or communication devices, wallets, papers, loose sheets, pen/pencil box/pouch, or printed or hand-written textual materials inside the examination hall.
- Candidates must keep in mind that there is a strict prohibition on all forms of communication inside the examination hall of the GATE 2026 exam.
- In case the concerned invigilator detects the presence of prohibited acts or items during the examination, it will automatically lead to the respective candidate’s candidature cancellation. It is important to note that the concerned department will not release the results for such candidates.
