Hey engineers! The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has announced the recruitment of AE (Assistant Engineer) Electrical, General State Services, Class II, under the Road and Building Department Recruitment 2025 for 139 vacancies. 

GPSC AE Recruitment 2025: 139 Vacancies:

The total number of vacancies currently available is 139 under Road and Building Department.

Educational Qualifications:

• Candidates should possess a bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical) or Technology (Electrical) obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
• Possess the basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Application starting date:

Online application for GPSC AE starts on 25th June 2025, at 1:00 PM. The last date of application is 9th July 2025, 11:59 PM. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible without waiting for the last date.

Pay Scale:

The Pay Scale for the advertised posts is Level-8, with a salary range of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 along with other benefits and perks.

Exam Date: The preliminary exam would be conducted on 5^th October 2025.

Selection Pattern: The selection pattern consists of preliminary exam and interview. The final result will be published on website during 10 working days after the last date of interview.

Note:

1. Out of the above-mentioned posts, 01 post is reserved for ex-serviceman candidates.
2. Out of the above mentioned posts, Total 08 posts are reserved for Persons with Disabilities candidates. These 08 posts are to be filled as per Circular No: CRR-102017-122639-G.2 (Part-1) dated 11/11/2024 and Resolution No: CRR-102017-122639-G.2 dated 20/11/2024 of General Administration Department.
3. Candidates shall carefully read Advertisement Number and Name of post before applying online. Candidate shall confirm the application only after verifying the details filled in the application form. Any request or representation to correct any error or submission in the confirmed online application or information filled in by the candidate shall not be accepted. (4) In case of more than one online application made by the candidate, only the latest confirmed application will be considered by the Commission. For candidates belonging to unreserved category, the last confirmed application with fees will be considered by the commission.

Age Limit:

Candidates must not have crossed the age of 35 years on July 09, 2025, as per the GPSC AE Recruitment 2025 guidelines.

Upper age limit shall be relaxed to candidates as under:

1.	EWS, SEBC, SC and ST category male candidates of origin of Gujarat	05 Years (maximum up to 45 years)
2.	General category female Candidates	05 Years (maximum up to 45 years)
3.	EWS, SEBC, SC and ST category female candidates of origin of Gujarat	10 Years (maximum up to 45 years)
4.	Ex. Serviceman Including E.C.O. / S.S.C.O.	Length of Military Service plus three years
5.	Physically Disabled candidates	10 years (maximum up to 45 years)
6.	Employees of Gujarat Government: According to the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services and Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, A candidate who is already in Gujarat Govt. service, either as a permanent or a temporary officiating continuously for six months and had not crossed age limit prescribed for the advertised post at the time of his first appointment	(i) If experience is prescribed as one of the qualifications, the upper age limit shall not apply. (ii) If experience is not prescribed as one of the qualifications and a Govt. servant appointed to a post requiring a Medical, Engineering, Veterinary or Agriculture degree or diploma and who applied for any such post, the upper age limit shall not apply. (iii) If experience is not prescribed as one of the qualifications in the advertisement, Govt. servants who are working on the post from which an employee can be promoted to the post so advertised, be entitled to relaxation of 5 years, or to the extent of equal number of years for which service has been put in by him, whichever is less.

Note:

1. Candidates shall be required to remain present at each stage of Recruitment process; otherwise his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
2. Preliminary Exam Pattern: A Question paper of 100 marks (60 minutes) of General Studies and 200 marks (120 minutes) of Concerned Subject. As per the Instruction/Provision of the Commission, the Candidates who secures less than 15% marks in Preliminary Test shall not be eligible for Interview.
3. Application Fees: Candidates of General (Unreserved) category have to pay Rs. 100/- + applicable postal charges or in case of Online Payment, Rs. 100/- + Service charges as Application Fees. While Candidates belonging to reserved categories and Economically Weaker Section of Gujarat State, Ex-serviceman and Person with Disability have not to pay application fees. While candidates of reserved category of other states have to pay application fees.
4. Subject to number of Candidates registered in the Advertisement, the Candidates will have to fill the “Consent Form” to appear in the Preliminary Test and have to pay the prescribed fees as “Deposit” as decided by the Commission.
