1. Volunteer

• Desirable Qualification: A Post graduate degree or diploma in management will be an added advantage. Experience of Telecom Operations will be preferred.
• Eligibility: Government Officers of SAG level on regular basis or E9 Scale on regular basis for PSU employees.
• Experience: Minimum 02 years of experience in above scales on regular basis. Pay Scale of the Post: E9 (Rs. 62000/- to 80,000/-) as prevalent in MTNL from time to time. The deputationist can also opt for the pay scale of his parent organization.
• Period of Deputation: The period of deputation on selection shall be for an initial period of one (01) year, which may be extended up to five (05) years.
• Age limit: The maximum age limit for volunteer at MTNL is 55 years as on the date of closing of applications.
• Salary: The monthly salary for volunteer is 62000 – 80000.

2. Junior Telecom Officer

This is a very good opportunity for BE/B.tech degree holder. All BE/ B. tech in Telecom/Electronics/Radio/Computer/Electrical/Information Technology/ Instrumentation Engineer candidates are eligible for this vacancy. M. Sc. (Electronics)/ M. Sc. (Computer Science) qualified candidates can also fill application form. Interested candidates are required to appear in GATE exam.

• Educational Qualifications: For the Junior Telecom Officer the candidates must have a valid GATE score and a degree from a recognised university in Electrical/Civil Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunications/Computer Science/IT.
• Minimum percentage: The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination are 60% for Gen and OBC candidates. Whereas for the SC/ST /PWD the minimum qualifying marks is 55%.

• Age Limit: Candidates age should be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years.

However, age relaxation is provided for various category students:

The Age relaxation is applicable upto 3 years for OBC.

The age relaxation is applicable up to 5 years for SC/ ST.

The age relaxation is applicable up to 10 years for PwD candidates as per rules.

The age relaxation is applicable up to 10 years for Ex servicemen candidates.

• Pay Scale: At the time of training, all the candidates would be paid Rs. 17000/-

After permanent placement, they would be paid in the scale of Rs. 20600- 46500.

• Other facilities: Extra facilities are also provided by the organisation to the candidates like DA, HRA/ subsidised housing and other basic facilities like medical facilities, gratuity, contributory provident fund etc admissible as per rules of the company.
• Placement: The final placement of posting will be decided after the completion of training. MTNL operates mainly in Delhi and Mumbai. Later in service the candidates are liable for posting and transfer to any section/ unit / place within the operational area of MTNL.
• Service Agreement: The selected candidates shall be required to execute a service agreement bond of two lakhs rupees to serve the company for at least 5 years after successful completion of training period.
• MTNL Junior Telecom Officer Selection Procedure:

The candidates would be selected on the basis on their GATE scores, which will be followed by the personal interview. The combined performance of the two will determine the final selection.  The personal interview will be conducted by the concerned recruitment authority.

• Training & Probation: After joining the candidates shall be required to undergo on-the -job induction training for a period of one year. After successful completion of the training the candidates will be under probation of 1 year. They shall be conformed in service after successful completion of probation and other related formalities I.e two years after joining the organization.
