RECRUITMENT OF MANAGEMENT TRAINEE (ELECTRICAL) THROUGH GATE 2026
Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has recently announced the OPTCL MT recruitment 2026 for the posts of management trainees at OPTCL. OPTCL has announced 60 vacancies for the posts of Management Trainee, Junior Management Trainee, Office Assistant Grade III Trainee, and other positions. The OPTCL MT recruitment notification has been released on the official website. The OPTCL MT recruitment examination is scheduled on 29th June and 30th June 2026.
Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), established on 29th March 2004, is a state-owned power utility in Odisha. OPTCL has infrastructure that spans for about 17,261 CKT KMs of transmission line, encompassing a vast and robust transmission network of 207 substations ranging from 132 kV to 400 kV. The growth of OPTCL is supported with advance technologies such as System Automation, STAMS, drone-based surveys, PG-DARPAN software, etc. OPTCL has also undertaken various projects on behalf of state and central governments, and it has major plans for expansion by adopting newer and greener technologies.

Out of the total 60 vacancies mentioned above for the Post of Management Trainee (Electrical), the reservation of vacancies in respect of ex-servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and sports persons’ categories are given below. The OPTCL Recruitment 2026 has specified that the minimum age of the applicants must be 21 years. Along with this, the maximum eligible age to apply for this post is 32 years. (as on 1st April 2026).

Candidates should have appeared for and qualified for GATE 2026, and the GATE 2026 score (normalize marks out of 100) should be mentioned while applying.
The qualifying marks as declared by the GATE 2026 organising body shall be considered, which will be verified with original GATE results by OPTCL. If any discrepancy is found, the application will be summarily rejected.
OPTCL Apply Online 2026: Application Process
Candidates must register themselves with the official OPTCL website via online mode. You must carefully add the registration number from your GATE 2026 admit card while filling up the application form. The concerned authorities do not accept any requests related to the GATE 2026 registration number and name change after the successful submission of the application form. Candidates must choose an active email at the time of registration and application submission. You must also utilise the alternative email facility, as the communication for this recruitment will take place via email. Once the candidate submits the application, he/she receives the unique OPTCL Application Number, which is also present in the completed application form.
The email ID that the candidate enters in the application form is the login ID, whereas the unique OPTCL application number is the password to log into the online application systems of OPTCL.

The applicant must pay the application fee via online mode with the help of a payment gateway page. The candidate needs to pay the extra charges on the application fees. No refund facility is available. After the online payment is completed, the candidate will find the submitted form copy and fee receipt. Candidates must keep these documents handy during the document verification process for the final selection.
Departmental candidates (applicable only for OPTCL regular employees) interested in applying for the OPTCL Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the eligibility criteria. In this case, the age criteria and application fees are not applicable. It is important to note that the children of the OPTCL employees and candidates associated with the organization via outsourced agencies do not fall into the classification of departmental candidates. Candidates must use the same photograph within the following specified dimension throughout each recruitment step.

The candidates can find the personal interview’s call letter on the OPTCL’s website before the interview date. In case of any cause/dispute, the honourable High Court of Orissa will hold the legal jurisdiction to reach a solution. OPTCL Salary
The OPTCL offers a competitive pay package. During the training period they shall be paid a stipend of Rs. 50,000/- per month. Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of pay. Matrix:- Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 177,500 (Level EE-2) with an initial basic pay of Rs. 56,100/– after completion of the one-year training period.
On successful completion of training, the candidates will be absorbed as assistant managers. (Electrical) in level EE-2 in the pay scale – Pay Matrix: Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 177,500. The pay and Allowances are subject to revision as approved by the board from time to time.
Besides the above Initial Basic Pay, DA, HRA or company accommodation, Medical Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Medical Insurance, Group Personal Accident Insurance, LTC, Gratuity, The National Pension System (NPS) and various loans & advances shall be paid as per the applicable rules of the Corporation in force from time to time. The CTC per annum for the post of assistant manager would be around Rs 15 lacs (approximately).
OPTCL Health criteria:
The candidates must possess physical and mental fitness in the compulsory pre-employment medical examination. The candidates must complete this examination as per the specified date. If the candidate fails to do so, his/her application will not progress to the later stages.
TRAINING & PROBATION UNDER OPTCL MT recruitment 2026
Selected candidates have to undergo training for a period of 1 (one) year at field units of OPTCL including induction-cum-orientation training. If the performance of the trainee is found unsatisfactory during the training period or in the final evaluation after one year of training, the training period will be extended for a further period of six months. If performance is not found satisfactory after the extension period, the service will be terminated.
After successful completion of the training period, the Officer shall be on probation for a period of twelve months.
SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND
The selected candidates will be required to execute a service bond in prescribed format to successfully complete the training period and, thereafter, serve the organization for at least three years. The amount of the bond presently is INR 300,000/- as applicable for all category of candidates which is payable if the candidate resigns / leaves services during the stipulated bond period for any reason whatsoever.
