Rajneesh Bijarniya, AIR 1 in Mechanical Engineering

GATE 2025, Mechanical Engineering rank 1 holder Rajneesh Bijarniya hails from Nagore district of Rajasthan. After completing his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Rajneesh worked in Tata Steel for 2.5 years before starting GATE preparation. Rajneesh belongs to a very humble background, his father is a teacher and his mother is a homemaker.

Rajneesh started his GATE journey by purchasing MADE EASY online course while he was doing job in Tata Steel. Later he realised that it was getting tough to concentrate for long hours in online classes and therefore he joined MADE EASY Classroom Course, a conventional practice course and an Online Test Series in 2024.

Like most of the other toppers Rajneesh also relied solely upon classroom notes, he also solved workbook problems simultaneously while studying the topic and with this dedication he managed to score 95.33 marks in GATE 2025 Mechanical Engineering stream.

In his interview, Rajneesh emphasised on the test series. He used to attempt MADE EASY test series and analyse them properly and due to this he used to secure top 10 ranks in MADE EASY test series most of the time. He also used test series for revision. He believes in ‘write and learn’ technique and so as per him, making notes is very important.

Nimesh Chandra, AIR 3 in Mechanical Engineering

Nimesh Chandra secured AIR 3 in GATE Mechanical Engineering. He scored 92.67 in GATE Mechanical Engineering. He attempted 63 questions, of which only 3 were incorrect. He was selected for Central Power Engineering Services (CPES) through UPSC ESE in 2020 with AIR 14. In his interview, he mentioned that he took the GATE exam just to brush up on his technical knowledge, as he is preparing for the ESE again, this time, aiming for a career in railways. He also wants to clear UPSC CSE and become an IAS officer.

Nimesh joined a 1-year MADE EASY Classroom Course for GATE and ESE. He secured a 50% scholarship in MADE EASY’s NST (National Scholarship Test). He mentioned that class notes, well-planned test series, and the ESE conventional course helped him to secure a good rank in GATE. He attempted previous years’ questions and workbook questions, which helped him a lot in solving numerical problems in GATE.

As an aspirant, Nimesh believes that dedication, self-discipline, and determination helped him to secure rank 3 in the GATE exam while working full-time in CPES. He emphasized short notes as they helped him in last-minute revision. He also suggested that GATE aspirants should practice conventional problems to clear their concepts.
