GATE is more than just an exam; it is a gateway to engineering, providing various chances for students. Recently, the GATE 2024 results were revealed, and many dreams came true.
GATE 2024 exam was conducted in the month of February with 30 engineering streams. Mechanical Engineering (ME) is the engg. stream from which many students appear in the exam and secured the highest ranks in this particular stream. Mechanical Engineering study indeed involves developing and operating machinery such as simple operating machines, complex machines as well as entire facilities and industrial plants.
MADE EASY has been conducting a comprehensive conversation with the achievers ‘Toppers Talk’ on the official YouTube channel since the official results have been declared. Rankers provided their strategic planning, tips, and advice to the aspiring students for the upcoming GATE 2025. It is highly recommended to the students to see the videos as it will motivate them to study.
This blog dives into the top achievers of GATE 2024 in particular to the Mechanical Engineering stream. MADE EASY invited many ME top achievers of GATE 2024 to deep dive into their journey and experiences in the GATE Mechanical Engineering exam. Scroll down to unveil their secrets of being the ME rankers, their challenges, shortcomings and strategies for the success of the competitive exam.
Saksham Jain, AIR 2 in Mechanical Engineering
Saksham secured AIR 2 in GATE 2024 exam is a B.Tech pass out from MITS Gwalior. He enrolled himself in MADE EASY Classroom Course, conventional practice course and online test series. He was always focused on getting himself recruited in PSUs and so his goal was the GATE exam. His dedication secured him 82.33 marks and so he recommends being clear with core subjects to avoid silly mistakes while attempting the questions. Conventional questions helped him a lot while preparing for the GATE exam and also completing the test series helped him identify which concepts are strong or weak. He believes in ‘write and learn’ technique and so making notes, especially short notes is very important.
Arnab Rudra, AIR 5 in Mechanical Engineering
Arnab is B.Tech graduate from SRM University, Chennai, secured AIR 5 in GATE 2024. He is from Nadia district in West Bengal and enrolled himself in MADE EASY Classroom Course, Online Test Series and Quick Revision Course. His friends got placed in private sectors but his aim was to get himself recruited in PSUs, so having confidence in oneself is very important. He focused on all the subjects, preparing notes and short notes, and later obtaining marks on test series. Jotting down the timing of study and taking breaks would help one in calculating the number of hours of studying, which Arnab himself followed. He recommends that test series are very important and solving them multiple times is more important. He suggests starting the preparation as early as possible and insists on practicing test series.
Utkarsh Singh, AIR 7 in Mechanical Engineering
Utkarsh is a 2022 pass out from NIT, Raipur and has secured AIR 7. He joined the MADE EASY Test Series and was a working GATE aspirant who managed job and exam preparation. He used to watch video lectures while traveling to the office and study during lunch breaks. He somehow managed to have 5 hours to study after work and have achievable goals for his weekend. He didn’t let him distract from his goals that was to get recruited in PSU. He suggests that the test series is very important and should be attempted as it showcases one’s knowledge.
Harshil Batra, AIR 8 in Mechanical Engineering
Harshil is a BIT, Ranchi 2022 passout has secured AIR 8 in GATE 2024. Harshil did self-study and enrolled for MADE EASY Online Test Series which secured him 77 marks. He managed self-study as he started his preparation in his last semester so within 5-6 months his 80 percent syllabus was completed. His earlier GATE marks were less so for 2024 he started thorough preparation through videos, note-making, revision and solving test series on a daily basis. He followed a technique: after attempting the test series he solved questions which couldn’t be attempted initially and later solved those questions which were wrong due to silly mistakes. He used to study during his breaks in his job and after coming back home attempt a full length test. Test series teaches one the confidence and time management.
Sneha Dhanotiya, AIR 9 in Mechanical Engineering
Sneha did her B.Tech from Ujjain Engineering College and joined MADE EASY Online Classes. GATE 2024 rank pursued master, so she suggests learning how to deal with pressure and time management as more pressure leads to silly mistakes in exams resulting in less marks. MADE EASY Class Notes, her short notes, PYQs were only paths of study source and gave her systematic guidance. She suggests that Test Series have a very important role as one gets to know the exam pattern. As her experience, she recommends getting engaged in hobbies sometimes if one cannot find themselves emotionally stable.
