DSSSB AE/JE Eligibility Criteria
For the DSSSB Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer recruitment exam 2026, candidates must check the DSSSB eligibility criteria from the official website before applying for any post.
- The candidates must be Indian citizens.
- Candidates must be more than 18 years of age and not more than 30 years of age. The relaxation is provided to the reserved candidates.

The DSSSB AE and JE recruitment exam is a single-stage process which includes a computer-based test followed by the document verification process. There is no interview or personality test which makes the performance in the written exam the single most important factor.
DSSSB AE/JE Application Process
- Before submitting online applications, the candidate must ensure that he/she is registered on DSSSB’s portal, i.e., https://dsssbonline.nic.in.
- Eligible candidates may apply online through the website https://dsssbonline.nic.in from 24 Feb 2026 to 25 Mar 2026 till 11.59 PM.
- The candidates must go through the INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING ONLINE carefully while filling out the Online Application Form for the post concerned.
- The candidates must submit their application through Online Mode only.
- Candidates are advised, in their own interest, to submit the online application much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date
- Before submission of the online application, candidates must check and ensure that they have filled in the correct details in each field of the online application form.
- DSSSB application fees is Rs. 100, and females, SC/ST and PwD candidates are exempted from paying any kind of fees.
DSSSB AE/JE Exam Pattern 2026
Under the DSSSB AE recruitment exam 2026, this exam is divided into two tier objective-based written examinations. Tier 1 is considered as the screening test, while tier 2 is considered as main examination which will be counted in the final merit list. There is negative marking applicable for the set of examinations. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted.
DSSSB AE tier 1 examination is a 200 marks MCQ based paper which have 200 questions from different subjects such as general awareness, general intelligence and reasoning, arithmetic and numerical reasoning, hindi language. Section B consists of 100 questions from the domain-specific. This exam needed to be completed in 2 hours.
DSSSB tier 2 examination is 300 marks MCQ based paper which have 200 question from the technical domain subject related to the post. The exam must be completed in 3 hours.
Part 1 is related to the technical domain subject of 1 marks each. While on the other hand part 2 is related to the in depth application of the concepts, problem solving and advance technical knowledge questions of 2 marks each
Under the DSSSB JE recruitment 2026 exam, this exam is divided into two sections, i.e., Section A and Section B. Section A consists of questions from General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability, Arithmetics, the Hindi language and comprehension, and English language and comprehension. There are 100 questions of 100 marks under section A.
Under Section B, domain-specific questions are being asked. There are 100 questions of 100 marks.
For every correct answer, 1 mark is given, and for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted.

The DSSSB JE post falls under level 6 of the 7th pay commission. The basic pay for the post of JE is 35,400 per month and the in hand salary ranges from 44,000 to 54,000 per month, and it includes other benefits as well such as dearness allowances, HRA and transport allowances.
