Important Dates:

  • Opening date for submission of online applications: 12th August 2025
  • Closing date for the submission of online applications: 01 September 2025, up to 05:00 PM
  • Closing date for deposit of Fee: 01 September 2025, up to 05:00 PM.

Age Limit

  • Candidate should not be less than 18 years and not more than 42 years, on or
  • before 01.09.2025 (closing date) and as per the Service Rules.
  • b) However, Relaxation in the maximum age as per the Government instructions dated
  • 03.2022, for various categories is available as under:

(ii) Backward Classes (BC) of Haryana 5 years
(iii) Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 5 years (+ additional 5 years if PwBD applicant belongs to SC/ST/BC/EWS category; subject to maximum age of 52 years for Group A & B posts)
(iv) Wife of military personnel disabled while in service 5 years
(v) Widowed or legally divorced woman 5 years
(vi) Judicially separated woman residing separately for more than 2 years 5 years
(vii) Unmarried woman 5 years
(viii) Ex-Servicemen (including Short Service Commissioned Officers & Emergency Commissioned Officers) Relaxation equal to length of military service + 3 years, provided:
(a) Minimum 6 months continuous service before release.
(b) Released not due to dismissal/discharge for misconduct or inefficiency.
(ix) Persons who have already worked / are working on ad hoc / contract / work-charged / daily wages basis in any Department/Board/Corporation of Haryana Govt. (including Govt.-aided Institutions) Relaxation equal to completed years of service on equivalent post (excluding breaks), subject to maximum age of 52 years. Note: Once appointed on regular basis with age relaxation, cannot avail it again for future appointments.

4 DESM Candidates of Haryana belonging to the UR category ₹1000/-
5 All remaining candidates (General/UR & others) ₹1000/-

Who is eligible for HPSC AE?

Anyone with a degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university is eligible. The degree must be regular (not distance/part-time). Candidates should also know Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matric or higher level.

What is the salary of an HPSC AE?

An HPSC Assistant Engineer (AE) is a Group-B Gazetted Officer. The salary is as per the 7th Pay Commission with the Level-9/10 pay scale. It usually starts from around ₹53,000 – ₹56,000 per month (basic), plus allowances like DA, HRA, TA, etc.

What is the selection process for HPSC AE?

The selection generally happens in three stages:

  • Screening Test (if applications are high)
  • Subject Knowledge Test (Civil Engineering)
  • Interview / Viva-Voce
  • Final merit is prepared from the written test + interview performance.

How many seats are there in HPSC AE 2025?

There are 80 Assistant Engineer (Civil) posts in the Public Works (B&R) Department, Haryana, out of a total of 153 engineering posts in this recruitment.
