Applications are invited from Indian Nationals possessing eligibility criteria given below:
- Candidates must have qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam.
- A valid GATE scorecard from the years 2022, 2023, or 2024 is mandatory.
- This position is for direct recruitment to the role of Deputy Field Officer (Technical) [Level-7 in the Pay Matrix, Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted], under the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India.
- The total monthly emoluments, inclusive of all allowances, will be approximately Rs. 95,000/- in New Delhi.
(i) Age-Limit:
Not exceeding 30 years of age (relaxable for identified categories viz. SC/ST/OBC/Central Govt. Employees / Ex-servicemen, as per Central Government Orders in force).
(ii) Educational Qualification (EQ):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Master’s degree in Science or any other technical or scientific discipline from a recognised University or Institution [combination of EQ possessed by candidate & GATE Score obtained in corresponding subject paper must be as per Para. 2 below]

- All applications submitted by the closing date that fulfill the eligibility criteria will be ranked in order of merit according to valid GATE scores for each subject. Candidates shortlisted (up to five times the number of available positions) based on their valid GATE scores will be invited for an interview.
- Interview will be conducted at the following Centres Chennai, Gurugram, Guwahati, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. Candidate should opt any one of the Centres of his / her choice.
5. Selection Process:
The selection process for the Cabinet Secretariat Deputy Field Officer (Technical) Recruitment 2024 includes the following stages:

- Medical examination
6. General Instructions:
(i) Eligible candidates must submit a duly filled-in Application Form along with self-attested copies of the following documents:
- Hard copies of mark-sheets and certificates for Matriculation, 10+2, B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc.
- A valid GATE Scores from the years 2022, 2023, or 2024.
- Caste certificate for age relaxation (if applicable).
- NOC from the present employer (if applicable).
- Undertaking and discharge certificate, in case of ex-servicemen.
(ii) Application Form, typed on A-4 size paper, should be filled in English Capital (Block) letters using Black or Blue ink only.
(iii) Make sure not to leave any columns blank. Applications that are incomplete, unsigned, overwritten, or lacking a photograph and required certificates will be rejected.
(iv) The envelope containing application form (along with requisite documents) should be sent through ORDINARY POST addressed to Post Bag No. 001, Lodhi Road Head Post Office, New Delhi- 110003. Last date for receipt of applications is 30 days from the date of publication.
(v) Candidates currently in government service must submit their applications through their respective offices and include a certificate from the Competent Authority to claim age relaxation, as per government rules.
7. General Terms & Conditions
- Candidates should be aware that this position entails field postings with an All India transfer liability. The aforementioned role is not suitable for any category of Persons with Disabilities (PWD), including Hearing Handicapped (HH), Orthopedically Handicapped (OH), Visually Handicapped (VH), or those with Autism. The medical standards for candidates will adhere to the Central Government guidelines applicable to Group ‘B’ posts.
- The exact date, time, and center for the interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates via the email address provided in their application forms.
- The Cabinet Secretariat reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the recruitment process, adjust the number of vacancies, or change the interview center at any stage for administrative reasons, without offering any justification.
Format for SC/ST Certificate
- A candidate claiming to belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or the Scheduled Tribes (ST) must provide a certified copy of the caste certificate.
- The caste certificate must be attested and in the form prescribed below.
- The certificate should be issued by:
- District Officer
- Sub-Divisional Officer
- Other designated officers specified by the concerned State Government
- The issuing officer should be from the district where the candidate’s parents (or surviving parent) ordinarily reside.
- If both parents are deceased, an officer from the district where the candidate ordinarily resides, excluding residence for educational purposes should sign the certificate.
- If the certificate includes a photograph as an integral part, the Commission will accept only attested photocopies of such certificates.
- The Commission will not accept any other type of attested or true copy for certificates that include a photograph.
List of Authorities Empowered to Issue Caste Certificates:
- District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/ Additional Deputy Commissioner/Dy. Collector/ Ist Class Stipendiary Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Extra-Assistant Commissioner/Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate.
- Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate.
- Revenue Officers not below the rank of Tehsildar.
- Sub-Divisional Officers of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
Note: ST Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu State should submit caste certificate ONLY FROM THE REVENUE DIVISIONAL OFFICER.
