DDA Careers: Delhi Development Authority
Created in 1957 under the provisions of the Delhi Development Act, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is responsible for the planning, development, and construction of housing projects, commercial lands, and land management. It also helps in providing public facilities like roads, bridges, drains, underground water reservoirs, community centers, sports centers, green belts, etc. within the area of the National Capital Territory of New Delhi, India. In short, we can say that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is the backbone of the national capital’s planned urban development, ensuring sustainable growth of the city. In this blog, we will look at all the details of DDA, DDA careers and job notifications, etc. This blog would be beneficial for all those candidates who were waiting for the DDA recruitment 2025 notification.
DDA Career and Job Notification
Working in the national capital, Delhi, is the dream of many candidates. Even many government employees want to stay in Delhi during their whole tenure. But unfortunately, it is not possible for everyone to stay in Delhi during their whole tenure. However, there are some jobs that allow permanent stay in Delhi; one such department is the Delhi Development Authority, popularly known as DDA. DDA recruits candidates for a lot of posts, like junior engineer, assistant executive engineer, programmer, etc.
DDA keeps recruiting talented and eligible candidates for various posts from time to time. Although DDA recruits for multiple posts, in this blog we will look only at the recruitment of junior engineers, assistant executive engineers, assistant directors (system), and programmers in 2025.
On 12th September 2025, DDA released a short notification indicating the number of vacancies, opening and closing dates of the application form, and expected DDA CBT dates. The qualification and eligibility criteria of the posts mentioned below are based upon the previous recruitments. We would update the information as DDA releases the complete information.

DDA releases vacancies for various posts and recruits engineering students of various branches for the below-mentioned posts.
Assistant Executive Engineer:
Educational Qualifications: Engineering degree from a recognised university/institution.
Eligible branches:
- Civil Engineering
Age limit: As per the previous recruitment of assistant executive engineer (civil). The lower age limit for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer is 21, whereas the upper age limit for the same post is 30 years. However, some relaxations are provided to various category students.
The relaxations in the upper age limit are as follows:
The Upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates: 5 years.
The Upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates: 3 years.
The Upper age relaxation for the PWD candidates: 10 years (13 years for OBC-NCL, 15 years for SC/ST)
Departmental candidate with at least three years continuous service in Central Govt. and Delhi Development Authority: Up to 05 Years for Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts (which are in the same line or allied cadres and where a relationship could be established that the service already rendered in a particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of the duties of post)
Selection Process:
In the previous recruitment of 2022, DDA used to shortlist candidates for interview on the basis of their GATE score. However, in the 2025 recruitment, the candidates would be shortlisted on the basis of the marks scored in CBT. In the short notification released by DDA, it is not mentioned whether there would be an interview for the post of AEE or not, but as per the previous year’s trends, there are high chances that candidates would have to appear for an interview after qualifying for the DDA CBT exam.
Previous recruitment of DDA AEE:
Candidates who meet the above mentioned eligibility criteria and had also appeared/qualified the GATE examination and registered with DDA for recruitment to the AEE posts, were shortlisted for interview on the basis of their GATE Score.
Weightage of each process: The weightage of GATE Score was 85% and interview was 15% in the previous recruitment.
Shortlisted candidates who are successful in the GATE examination were called to appear before the interview board wherever prescribed along with original documents.
Total vacancies for the post of AEE Civil in 2025: As per the short notification released in 2025, it is mentioned that there would be total 10 vacancies of AEE Civil, out of which 7 are for unreserved category candidates, 1 post for ST and 2 posts for OBC candidates.
Period of Probation: The selected candidates will be put on a probation period of two years and in house training regarding departmental procedures etc. Probation of the candidate will be confirmed after completing/passing the departmental examination prescribed by DDA.
Medical Standards: Candidates which are provisionally selected by DDA have to undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Examination. The health of candidates is assessed by Authorized Medical Officers/nominated hospitals and the appointment is, subject to meeting the medical standards as per rules. Relaxation of medical standards for PwD (Persons with Disability) candidates: Candidates selected under PwD category except the handicap for which relaxation is acceptable, must be within the prescribed normal range of all other physical standards. PwD candidates would be required to furnish valid Disability Certificate duly stamped & signed by a medical panel empowered for the purpose and should comprise of 3 medical officers from government hospital.
Salary: The salary of an assistant executive engineer would be as per the level 10 of 7th pay commission. Selected candidates would get other benefits like DA, TA, HRA etc. along with the basic pay.
Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical):
Educational Qualifications: Engineering degree from a recognised university/institution.

Total vacancies for the post of AEE Electrical in 2025: As per the short notification released in 2025, it is mentioned that there would be total 3 vacancies of AEE Electrical, out of which 1 post is for unreserved category candidates, 1 post for SC and 1 post for OBC candidates.
Period of Probation: The selected candidates will be put on a probation period of two years and in house training regarding departmental procedures etc. Probation of the candidate will be confirmed after completing/passing the departmental examination prescribed by DDA.

Asst. Director (System)
Educational Qualifications: As per the previous recruitment for the post of assistant director (system), the candidates who have done their M. E/ M. Tech. in Computer Science / IT with First Class or minimum 60% marks in aggregate from Govt. recognised Institution/university.
Or
Candidates who have done) B.E. / B. Tech./M.Sc. in Computer Science / IT/ MCA with First Class or minimum 60% marks in aggregate from Govt. recognized Institution/University and with one-year experience in relevant field are eligible for the post of Asst. Director (system).
Age Limit: The upper age limit is fixed at 30 years with special relaxation to certain category students.
The Relaxations in upper Age Limit is as follows:
- The Upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years.
- The Upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates is 3 years.
- The Upper age relaxation for the PWD candidates is 10 years (13 years for OBC-NCL, 15 years for SC/ST)
- For ex-servicemen the upper age limit is relaxed up to 05 Years.
Nationality:
A candidate must be either:
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) A subject of Nepal, or
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/tests etc. but the offer of appointment will be given only after submission of the necessary eligibility certificate issued to him/her by the Government of India in DDA office
Selection procedure: The candidates are selected based on a single examination (CBT-based), which is followed by the interview.
As per the previous recruitment, there would be a 2-hour duration examination that carries 120 marks and consists of 120 objective-type questions (multiple choice questions) of the discipline one has applied for. The examination will also have questions from reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language.
Based on the written examination, the candidates will be shortlisted for the interview round, the qualifications of which will lead to selection.
For the question that carries 1 mark, there will be a penalty of 0.33 (negative marking) for wrong answers/multiple answers that will be marked by the candidates in the objective-type question paper.

Programmer:
Educational Qualifications: In the previous recruitment of DDA for the post of programmer, interested candidates must have an Engineering Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electronics from a recognized university or Engineering College/institute.
OR
(ii) Master Degree in Computer Science/Computer Application from a recognized University, Engineering College/Institute.
OR
(iii) Should have passed ‘B’ Level examination from the Department of Electronics Accreditations of Computer Course (DOEACC).
Age limit: In the previous recruitment of programmer, the upper age limit was fixed at 30 years with special relaxation to certain category students.
The Relaxations in upper Age Limit is as follows:
- The Upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years.
- The Upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates is 3 years.
- The Upper age relaxation for the PWD candidates is 10 years (13 years for OBC-NCL, 15 years for SC/ST)
- For ex-servicemen the upper age limit is relaxable by 05 Years.
Nationality: The eligibility criteria for nationality is a little vast. The candidates must be either:
A candidate must be either:
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) A subject of Nepal, or
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/tests etc. but the offer of appointment will be given only after submission of the necessary eligibility certificate issued to him/her by the Government of India in DDA office
Selection Procedure: According to the previous recruitment for the post of programmer, the selection procedure was based on a single computer-based examination conducted by the organization. In this recruitment, there are chances that the selection procedure remains the same.
In the earlier recruitment, there used to be 120 questions with a time duration of 2 hours. Each question carried 01 marks, with a penalty of 0.33 (negative marking) for wrong answers/multiple answers that were marked by the candidates in the objective-type question paper.

Junior Engineer (Civil)
Educational Qualifications: As per the previous recruitment of junior engineers for civil and electrical/mechanical, the candidates must have a diploma in the relevant discipline or equivalent from a recognized institution.
The candidates should be above 18 years; however, the upper age limit was 27 years. There was special age relaxation for students from certain categories.
The Relaxations in upper Age Limit is as follows:
- The Upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years.
- The Upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates is 3 years.
- The Upper age relaxation for the PWD candidates is 10 years (13 years for OBC-NCL, 15 years for SC/ST)
- For ex-servicemen the upper age limit is relaxable by 05 Years.

Selection Procedure: In the earlier recruitments, the selection for the post of junior engineer was based on a single examination conducted by the organization.
The examination was CBT-based with 120 questions, each carrying a weightage of 1 mark. Candidates had 2 hours to complete the CBT. The questions in the CBT were from the respective discipline as well as from other topics like reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language as well. There was also negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect response.
Period of Probation: Earlier, the selected candidates were on a probation period for two years; the selected candidates were given in-house training regarding departmental procedures, etc.
