OIL’s overseas E & P portfolio consists of 17 Blocks spread over 10 countries: Libya, Gabon, Nigeria, Yemen, Venezuela, USA, Mozambique, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Russia. Job Profile & Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation and maintenance of mud/ workover fluid at the well site as per the drilling fluid program.
  2. Quality control of the fluid system as the Drilling/ workover operation progresses.
  3. Maintenance of mud parameters during drilling operations, considering all drilling events online and assessing the various parameters and data available at site from either the mud logging unit or other data gathering systems.
  4. Provide operational guidelines as and when required. However, the Company’s decision regarding all operations shall be final and binding.
  5. Managing downhole operational problems such as loss circulation, stuck pipe, torque, drag, and hole stability etc.
  6. Maintain inventory of various chemicals, additives, and consumption patterns, replenish the desired quantity in a manner to ensure adequate requirements covering contingency at the well site at all times.
  7. Generate daily reports in standard formats and submit to the Company representative.
  8. Test routine mud parameters daily as per requirement and report to the Company’s representative.
  9. Submit mud recap after completion of each well.

Age limit:

For the above-mentioned posts, the upper age limit for the general category students is 27 years (for graduates) and 29 years (for postgraduates).

However, age relaxation is provided to various categories.

  • For the OBC category, the age limit is 30 years (for graduates) and 32 years (for postgraduates).
  • For the SC/ST category, the age limit is 32 years (for graduates) and 34 years (for postgraduates).
  • Age relaxation of 5 years will be applicable for candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989, for which they will have to submit a domicile certificate issued by the prescribed authority.
  • In case of candidates belonging to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) age relaxation will be 10 years for (PwBD-UR), 13 years for PwBD (OBC) & 15 years for PwBD-ST/SC.
  • Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen will be 5 years.

Selection Procedure:

The eligible/shortlisted candidates for the above-mentioned posts will have to appear for the Written Test, Group Discussion (GD)/Group Task (GT), and Personal Interview, details of which are as under:

  • The candidates who qualify in the Phase-I, i.e. written test will only qualify for the next round of the Selection process i.e. GD/GT & Personal Interview.
  • The merit list of candidates shall be drawn based on the combined marks of the written test, Group Discussion/Group Task, and Personal Interview as per defined weightages.
  • Candidates who qualify in the Written Test will be called in a ratio of 1:5 for the GD & PI based on marks in the Written Test.

  • The provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) by Oil India Hospital, and an appointment will be issued to the provisionally selected candidate, subject to being found medically fit by Oil India Hospital.

Remuneration Package and Other Benefits

  • Selected candidates will be appointed under the ‘Scheme for Induction Level Engineers/Officers on Probation’. The candidates will be placed in Grade B in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 (starting Basic Pay of Rs. 60,000). The selected candidates will have to serve a probationary period of one year and will be confirmed in writing after the successful completion of the same.
  • Approximate total emoluments in Grade B at the minimum of the scale will be around Rs.. 1,00,000/-. In addition to the basic pay & dearness allowance, other benefits include HRA or company-leased/self-lease accommodation, free medical benefits for self & dependents, Gratuity/PF, House Building Loan, Vehicle Loan, Group Insurance, etc. as per the rules of the company.

Service Bond

The selected candidates will have to execute a bond to serve the Company for a minimum period of three years from the date of joining the Company.

Posting

The posting of the selected candidates can be in any of the operational areas/offices of OIL as per the requirements of the company. The services are also transferable as per the requirements of the company.

5. Executive Trainee

The second-largest hydrocarbon exploration and production public sector company based in India announces the recruitment process through GATE for the position of Executive Trainee in the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Geology, and Geophysics.

Educational Qualifications:

The eligibility criteria for the job of Executive Trainee are as follows

  • Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology/AIME of 4 years’ duration recognized by AICTE with a minimum of 65% marks.
  • Postgraduate (Full time) in Geology of 2 years’ duration recognized by UGC with Mathematics in graduation with minimum of 60% marks.
  • Full-time Post Graduate in Geophysics of 2 years’ duration recognized by UGC with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Final year/semester students are also eligible to apply. However, they have to provide a Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Degree pass certificate at the time of the interview.

Selection Process

  • Eligible candidates will have to appear for the GATE examination.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process based on GATE scores in order of merit.
  • After the GATE results are announced, various PSUs release their cutoff for the recruitment of candidates to various job profiles.
  • PSU Cut off is based on various factors such as the number of Vacancies, the number of candidates applying, Last year’s cut-off trends, etc.
  • GATE-qualified candidates are called for a Personal Interview and a Group Discussion, and thereafter, the candidates are finally shortlisted for recruitment.

Compensation Package

A fixed stipend of Rs. 25000 pm. In addition to a stipend, other benefits include free hostel-type accommodation on a shared basis and free medical facilities for oneself. The Executive Trainee will have to undergo a minimum of one year of training, which is subject to extension based on his/her performance. After completing the training, the Executive Trainees will be assessed for absorption into the regular Executive Grade B position in the pay scale of Rs. 24900-50500. After absorption in Executive Grade B [Rs. 24900–50500 (starting Basic Pay of Rs. 24900)], in addition to Basic Pay and DA, executives are entitled to other perquisites & allowances under the cafeteria approach. Benefits such as Leave, Loans, Medical Treatment, Provident Fund, Gratuity, etc., will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training/after absorption.

Physical Fitness

The candidate should be fit as per the standards prescribed for the posts by the OIL Medical Board. The provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) conducted by the OIL Medical Board and will be finally selected to join OIL only after he/she is declared medically fit by the OIL Medical Board. The decision of the OIL Medical Board will be final and binding.
