Oil India Limited (OIL) is the second largest hydrocarbon exploration and production Indian public sector company with its operational headquarters in Duliajan, Assam, India. The company is a state-owned Navratna under the administrative control of India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas with its corporate offices in Noida in the New Delhi-NCR region.
OIL is engaged in the business of exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas, transportation of crude oil and production of liquid petroleum gas. International Operations
OIL’s overseas E & P portfolio consists of 17 Blocks spread over 10 countries: Libya, Gabon, Nigeria, Yemen, Venezuela, USA, Mozambique, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Russia. Adding to the above, OIL has 10% PI in 741 km long Multiproduct pipeline construction and operation project in Sudan which was completed in 2005.

In the E&P sector, in India, OIL has signed Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) with private companies like Essar Oil, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company (HOEC), Geo Global Resources (GGR), Geo-Enpro Petroleum, Hindustan Mittal Energy Ltd (HMEL), Geo-Petrol International Inc., Shiv Vani, Assam Company India Ltd (ACIL) and Reliance Industries (RIL). 1. HSE Officers on contract
Educational Qualifications:
Full-time Bachelor’s degree in Engineering of Technology from recognized University/ Institute.
Experience:
Minimum 01 (one) year experience in Exploration and Production Operations (Drilling wells) as HSE Officer.
Salary:
₹40,000/- per month
Selection Procedure:
The selection to the post of HSE officer will be on the basis of an interview conducted in the OIL campus.
The candidates should also bring the following documents at the time of walk-in-interview:
- Original mark-sheets, pass certificates, caste certificate (if applicable) & experience certificates.
- A set of self-attested photocopies of original mark sheets, pass certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate.
- 2 passport size recent photographs.
- Filled-in BioData form.
Job Profile and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be posted in Aizawl base office and work as well-site HSE Officer as per requirement.
- To monitor all HSE-related issues.
- To monitor all pollution-related issues.
- Maintain Firefighting equipment.
- To interact with statutory bodies on their visits to well site.
2. Liaison Officer on contract:
Educational Qualifications:
Full-time Bachelor’s degree in Engineering of Technology from a recognized University/ Institute.

₹25,000/- per month

Skill Requirement
- Should have proficiency in basic computer operations, e.g. MS Word, Excel and PPT

- Should have sound health to withstand the rigors of oil field operation in difficult terrain.
Job Profile and Responsibilities
- To be posted in the Aizawl base office.
- To coordinate all liaison activities with Mizoram State Govt. Officials, Ministry, and local people and other organizations.
3. Field Chemists on contract
Education Qualifications:
Post Graduation in Chemistry or BE/B Tech in Chemical Engineering from a recognized University.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of working experience in Drilling/Workover fluids in the field.
Salary:
₹50,000/- per month
Selection Procedure:
The selection to the post of HSE officer will be on the basis of an interview conducted at the OIL campus.

Job Profile & Responsibilities:
- Preparation and maintenance of mud/ workover fluid at well site as per drilling fluid program.
- Quality control of the fluid system as the Drilling/ workover operation progresses.
- Maintenance of mud parameters during drilling operations considering all drilling events on line and assessing the various parameters and data available at site from either mud logging unit or other data gathering system.
- Provide operational guidelines as and when required. However, the Company’s decision regarding all operations shall be final and binding.
- Managing downhole operational problems such as loss circulation, stuck pipe, torque, drag and hole stability etc.
- Maintain inventory of various chemicals, additives, consumption pattern, replenish desired quantity in a manner so as to ensure adequate requirement covering contingency at well site all the time.
- Generate daily reports in standard formats and submit to Company representative.
- Test routine mud parameters daily as per requirement and report to Company’s representative.
- Submit mud recap after completion of each well.
- Follow SOP and all safety norms of the industry.
- Provide mud engineering related services during well cementation and production testing.
- Carry out any other job (mud engineering related) assigned by ED(RP) or his representative.

Age limit:
For the above-mentioned posts the upper age limit for the general category students is 27 years ( for graduates ) and 29 years (for postgraduates).
However, age relaxation is provided to various category students.
- For the OBC category, the age limit is 30 years (for graduates) and 32 years (for postgraduates).
- For the SC/ST category, the age limit is 32 years (for graduates) and 34 years (for postgraduates).
- Age relaxation of 5 years will be applicable for candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 for which they will have to submit domicile certificate issued by the prescribed authority.
- In case of candidates belonging to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) age relaxation will be 10 years for (PwBD-UR), 13 years for PwBD (OBC) & 15 years for PwBD-ST/SC.
- Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen will be 5 years.
Selection Procedure:
The eligible/shortlisted candidates for the above-mentioned posts will have to appear for Written Test, Group Discussion (GD)/Group Task (GT) and Personal Interview, details of which are as under:

- The candidates who qualify in the Phase-I, i.e. written test will only qualify for the next round of the Selection process i.e. GD/GT & Personal Interview.
- The merit list of candidates shall be drawn based on combined marks of written test, Group Discussion/Group Task and Personal Interview as per defined weightages.
- Candidates who qualify in the Written Test will be called in a ratio of 1:5 for the GD & PI based on marks in the WT.
- The candidates who qualify in the Phase-I, i.e. written test will only qualify for the next round of the Selection process i.e. GD/GT & Personal Interview.
- The merit list of candidates shall be drawn based on combined marks of written test, Group Discussion/Group Task and Personal Interview as per defined weightages.
- Candidates who qualify in the Written Test will be called in a ratio of 1:5 for the GD & PI based on marks in the WT.
- The provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) by Oil India Hospital and appointment will be issued to the provisionally selected candidate subject to being found medically fit by Oil India Hospital.
Remuneration Package and Other Benefits
- Selected candidates will be appointed under the ‘Scheme for Induction Level Engineers/Officers on Probation’. The candidates will be placed in Grade B in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 (starting Basic Pay of Rs. 60,000). The selected candidates will have to serve a probationary period of one year and will be confirmed in writing after the successful completion of the same.
- Approximate total emoluments in Grade B at the minimum of scale will be around Rs.1,00,000/-. In addition to the basic pay & dearness allowance, other benefits include HRA or Company leased/self-lease accommodation, free medical benefits for self & dependents, Gratuity/PF, House Building Loan, Vehicle Loan, Group Insurance, etc. as per rules of the company.
Service Bond
The selected candidates will have to execute a bond to serve the Company for a minimum period of three years from the date of joining the Company.
Posting
The posting of the selected candidates can be in any of the operational areas/offices of OIL as per the requirements of the company. The services are also transferable as per the requirement of the company.
5. Executive Trainee
The second-largest hydrocarbon exploration and production public sector company based in India announces the recruitment process through GATE for the position of Executive Trainee in disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Geology, and Geophysics.
Educational Qualifications:
The eligibility criteria for the job of Executive Trainee is as follow
- Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology/AIME of 4 years’ duration recognized by AICTE with a minimum of 65% marks.
- Postgraduate (Full time) in Geology of 2 years’ duration recognized by UGC with Mathematics in graduation with minimum of 60% marks.
- Full-time Post Graduate in Geophysics of 2 years’ duration recognized by UGC with minimum of 60% marks.
- Final year/semester students are also eligible to apply. However, they have to provide Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Degree pass certificate at the time of interview.
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will have to appear for the GATE examination.
Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process on the basis of GATE scores in order of merit.
After GATE Results are announced, various PSU’s release their cut off for recruitment of candidates to various job profiles.
PSU Cut off is based on various factors such as No. of Vacancies, No. of candidates applying, Last year cut off trends etc.
GATE Qualified candidates are called for Personal Interview and Group Discussion and thereafter the candidates are finally shortlisted for recruitment.
Compensation Package
A fixed stipend of Rs. 25000 pm. In addition to stipend, other benefits include free hostel-type accommodation on sharing basis and free medical facilities for self. The Executive Trainee will have to undergo a minimum of one-year training which is subject to extension based on his/her performance. After the completion of training, the Executive Trainees will be assessed for absorption in regular Executive Grade B in the pay scale of Rs. 24900-50500. After absorption in Executive Grade B [Rs. 24900–50500 (starting Basic Pay of Rs. 24900)], in addition to Basic Pay and DA, executives are entitled to other perquisites & allowances under the cafeteria approach. Benefits such as Leave, Loans, Medical Treatment, Provident Fund, Gratuity, etc. will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training/after absorption.
Physical Fitness
The candidate should be fit as per the standards prescribed for the posts by the OIL Medical Board. The provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo Pre Employment Medical Examination (PEME) conducted by the OIL Medical Board and will be finally selected to join OIL only after he/she is declared medically fit by OIL Medical Board. The decision of the OIL Medical Board will be final and binding.
