Important Instructions
Here are a few important instructions for the aspirants after they have downloaded the e-admit card (Hall Ticket) from the UPSC’s official website and for the examination day.
- Check the e-Admit Card carefully after it reflects on your screen. In case of any discrepancies, you must ensure that you contact the concerned officials in the respective department of UPSC immediately. Check the information below to find the respective department’s email ID.
- Mention your Name, Roll Number, and Registration ID with the Examination’s Name and Year in correspondence with UPSC.
- Bring this e-Admit card (printout), along with the (original) Photo Identity Card, whose number is mentioned in the e-Admit Card in each session to secure admission to the Examination Hall. Candidates must bring the e-Admit card’s printout with one of the accepted Photo Identity Card’s original documents. The information on the Photo Identity Card must match that mentioned in the e-Admit card. In addition, it is important to preserve the UPSC ESE 2025 Admit Card at least until the time of the final results.
- You are responsible for the safe custody of the e-Admit Card and in the event of any other person using this e-Admit Card.
- Candidates should avoid any omission/ mistake/ discrepancy in encoding/ filling in details on the OMR answer sheet. It is especially applicable in terms of the Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code, which will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.
- Enter the Examination Hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the Examination. Candidates must ensure that they enter the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the examination.
It is important to keep in mind that entry to the Examination Hall closes 10 minutes prior to the scheduled commencement of the examination in each session.
- If you appear at a center/sub-center other than the one indicated in your e-Admit Card, you will not receive permission to attempt the UPSC ESE Prelims 2025.
- You must read the “Special Instructions for candidates admitted to the examination” present in the “Rules for the Examination” available in the Examination Notice with “Poster” containing instructions displayed outside the Examination Hall.
- It is essential to note that the exam candidature is a provisional one.
- Candidates cannot carry Mobile Phones, Calculators, IT Gadgets, or any other Communication devices (including Bluetooth) inside the premises where the examination venue as the officials will not allow the candidates to enter with these objects. In case of any infringements of these instructions, the officials hold the right to take disciplinary action, including a ban from similar examinations conducted in the future.
- A penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers in the ESE Prelims exam is applicable in the case of the question papers (of objective type).
- Candidates must carry and attempt answers with a Black ballpoint pen; otherwise, the paper checkers will not evaluate the exam paper.
- Candidates must not bring any valuables/costly items and bags to the examination halls. It is because the officials at the venue do not hold the safety of the respective items. The Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.
- Candidates who do not have clear photographs on the UPSC ESE Prelims 2025 admit card will have to bring a photo identity proof. It includes an Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Passport, Voter I Card, etc., and two passport-size photographs one for each session for appearing in the ESE exam with an undertaking.
- Orthopaedically/Visually Impaired candidates, who have opted for their own scribe, may note that their own scribe will be allowed for the ESE Prelims exam only with a separate e-Admit Card for such scribe. The e-Admit cards for their own scribes will be issued separately.
- All candidates must wear masks/face covers for all candidates. The officials will not allow the candidates without masks/face covers to enter into the examination venue.
- However, candidates will have to remove their masks for verification, whenever the respective officials ask for the same.
- Candidate may carry his/her own hand sanitizer (small size) in a transparent bottle.

- After you reach here, you need to ensure that you add the login details and click on the submit button.
- Then, you will find the admit card available on your screen.
- Before downloading the ESE Admit card, you need to ensure that the correct details are mentioned in the admit card.
- You must also ensure that you keep a hard copy of the admit card for future purposes.
