National Hydroelectric Power Corporation

NHPC Limited (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation), incorporated in 1975, is an Indian Hydropower generation company. The Public Sector Company earlier had an objective to plan, promote, and organize an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects. After a few years, NHPC expanded its objects to include other sources of energy like Solar, Geothermal, Tidal, Wind, etc.

At present, NHPC is a Mini Ratna Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India and is among the top ten companies in the country in terms of investment. Presently, NHPC Limited has become the largest organization for hydropower development in India. It has the capacity to undertake any activity from the conceptualization stage to the commissioning in relation to the setting up of hydro projects. NHPC, a Mini Ratna company that is classified as an “A” class company to work with, is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Government of India. Application Fee

Candidates belonging to the General/EWS/OBC category are required to pay a non-refundable fee of 600/- plus applicable Taxes, i.e., Rs. 708/- per application. Bank Charges/Processing charges, including GST (if any), shall be borne by the candidate only. The SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/ Female candidates are exempted from the fee. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are, therefore, requested to verify their eligibility & correctness of information on the Application Form before paying the Registration Fee.

Important Dates:

  • Opening of Online Application: 02.09.2025 (10:00 AM)
  • Closing of Online Application: 01.10.2025 (05:00 PM)

Selection Process

The candidates registered online with NHPC and have filled all the requisite information in conformity with the eligibility criteria shall be provisionally allowed to appear for the Computer-Based Online Test (CBT) and Written Test (as applicable). The Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT and Written Test (as applicable) for consideration of candidates in the selection process are given below:

  • OBC/ Gen-EWS: 40% of total Marks
  • SC/ST/PwBD: 35% of total Marks

Based on the merit of the Online Test, the provisionally selected candidates shall be called for Document Verification (DV) at the Corporate Office, Faridabad. In this process, all the requisite documents will be verified against the original mark sheet/certificates. Further, at the time of DV, biometric authentication of the shortlisted candidates will also be done. On successful completion of DV, the final selected candidates will be given a provisional “Offer of Appointment”.

How To Apply:

Step-1: Visit www.nhpcindia.com & apply through the online application portal available in the “Career” section with us. The candidate must possess a valid email ID and mobile number, which shall be active throughout the process, as required for any further notifications.

Step 2: Read all instructions given on the website to ensure your eligibility before applying.

Step-3: Fill the Online application form with relevant details and submit. After successful submission of the application, an application ID shall be generated by the system, which shall be kept and used for further communication

Step 4: Scanned copies of the following documents should be kept ready by the candidate before applying for online registration for attachment:

  • Matriculation/ secondary school certificate as proof of Date of Birth.
  • Complete set of mark sheets/ certificates in support of qualification.
  • Caste certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India. In case of OBC candidates, the community certificate should have been issued within 6 months before the date of registration.
  • Disability certificate issued by Competent Authority (if applicable)

Step 5: Upload the latest photograph and signature as per the instructions given in the online application portal.

Step-6: Take out the print of the registration form generated by the system in duplicate with the Unique application ID for future references.

Application registered without / incomplete documents uploaded shall be summarily rejected even if a registration number has been generated. The candidate should not send any document/ certificate or print out of the Registration slip/ Form through the post.

General Information and Instructions

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Final year/ semester appearing students are not eligible to apply. The result should be declared before the date of closing of the online application.
  • Candidates acquired essential Diploma Qualification through 2 years Lateral Entry in relevant Discipline from Government/Government-recognized Institute with minimum 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates with 50% marks) or equivalent grade are also eligible to apply.
  • All computations of age requirement/ qualifications shall be done with reference to the last date of receipt of online application as mentioned in the advertisement.
  • Certificate issued by a Board of Secondary Education for passing Matriculation/Higher Secondary, mentioning the date of birth, shall be the only acceptable document in support of proof of age.
  • Candidates should possess a valid e-mail ID and mobile number. Candidates are advised to keep their e-mail ID active at least for one year. No change in e-mail ID will be allowed once entered. All future correspondence, including issuance of Offer of Appointment (if selected) etc. shall be done through e-mail only. Responsibility of receiving, downloading, and printing of information, communication, etc. will be of the candidate. NHPC will not be responsible for any loss of email sent due to an invalid/wrong email ID provided by the candidate.
  • Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfill the eligibility and other norms mentioned in the advertisement. If a candidate is shortlisted, based on the information given by him/her and does not fulfill the same / meet the criteria, he/she will not be allowed to join.
  • Category (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/ EWS/PwBD) once filled in the online application form will not be changed, and no benefit of other category will be admissible later on. The reserved category candidates and EWS/PwBD category candidates are required to submit the requisite Caste/Tribe/EWS/PwBD certificate in the prescribed format, issued by the Competent Authority as prescribed by the Government of India, at the time of the further selection process, if called for the same.
  • Candidate is required to obtain the requisite marks/grade in the minimum qualification prescribed for the post, taking the average of all the semesters/years irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester/year by the Institute / University.
  • No representation will be entertained for relaxation of the prescribed criteria in any circumstances.
  • Internal candidates having the requisite qualifications are also eligible to apply. They are advised to refer to the internal circular before filling out the application.
  • Candidate has to apply online only. No manual/paper application will be entertained.
  • The date of declaration of result/issuance of the Mark sheet shall be deemed to be the date of qualifying, and there shall be no relaxation on this account.
  • Candidature of the registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process or after selection/joining, in the event that any information provided by the candidate is found to be false or is not found in conformity with the eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.

  • Any canvassing, directly or indirectly, by the applicant will disqualify his / her candidature.
  • In case of any dispute, the competent court at Faridabad / High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
