Qualification:

Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology/AMIE with not less than 65% marks, as per respective Institute/University norms (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). Candidates must have appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – 2023. A candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the disciplines as given below can only apply for the post of EET in the respective discipline:

Age Limit:

The upper age limit is 27 years as of the last date of online application. Age relaxation for SC /ST/OBC/PwBD/XSM applicants is available as per government guidelines.

 

Selection Process:

Applicants must have appeared and passed the qualifying examination for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2023. Applicants who apply to NTPC in response to this announcement will be shortlisted for file review based on their performance at GATE -2023. Applicants will also be offered an “Offer of Appointment” if they meet the advertised eligibility criteria. Please note that only GATE scores of 2023 are valid for NTPC EET-2023 recruitment.

Compensation Package:

The selected candidates will be placed in the pay grade of Rs. 40,000-1,40,000 with a basic salary of Rs. 40,000/- (Grade E1). The other benefits such as Dearness Allowance, other perquisites and allowances, terminal benefits, etc. will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training / after absorption.

 

Placement:

Selected applicants will complete one year of training at various locations. The final posting location will be decided upon completion of the training. Applicants may be assigned to any project/station nationwide, including subsidiaries/JVS companies of NTPC.

The incumbent will be assigned to power plant shift operations projects/stations and will be required to work shifts (including night shifts). Application for the position will be considered as the applicant’s consent to work in shift operations (including night shift).

 

Reservations and Relaxations:

1. Applicants who indicate that they belong to a certain category must necessarily have a valid EWS/ OBC/ SC/ ST/Disability certificate from the competent authority. Reservations and relaxations for SC/ ST/ OBC/ XSM/ EWS/ PwBD candidates will be provided as per Government guidelines. Relaxations will be extended in vacancies identified for SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ PwBD.
2. Category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) once filled in the online application form will not be changed and no benefit of other categories will be admissible later on. The applicants of the reserved categories shall produce the required valid certificate in the latest format prescribed by the Government of India, issued by the competent authority if required.
3. SC, ST, and candidates with disabilities (PwBD) who score at least 55% on the qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the position. The upper age limit is lowered by 5 years for SC/ ST and 3 years for OBC applicants. It is relaxed by 10 years for PwBD-General/ EWS, 13 years for PWBD-OBC, and 15 years for PWBD- SC/ ST candidates. The OBC candidates who belong to the “Creamy Layer” are not entitled to concession admissible to the OBC category and such candidates have to indicate their category as General. The EWS/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit the requisite certificate in the prescribed format of the Government of India, from a competent authority issued in the current financial year only. In addition, the age relaxation for Ex-servicemen (XSM) will be as per Government of India norms.

 

Service Agreement Bond:

The selected candidates who belong to General, EWS, and OBC categories will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rs. 2,50,000/- for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories) to serve the company for at least 3 years after successful completion of one- year training.

 

Health:

Before joining, applicants must undergo a medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board, whose decision is final and binding. No relaxation in health standards is allowed. Detailed medical norms are available on the website careers.ntpc.co.in.

 

How to apply?

1. Candidates need to apply online for NTPC EET-2023 on the website ntpc.co.in or visit the careers section at www.ntpc.co.in with their GATE-2023 registration number.
2. During the online application process, applicants must upload their photo and enter their GATE -2023 registration number.
3. Read the instructions carefully and complete the online application form with accurate information, including the registration number GATE -2023. After a successful application, the system will generate a unique application number. Candidates are required to download the application slip and keep the printout of the application slip which will be generated by the system after successful application.
4. Please ensure that the GATE-2023 registration number, which is mentioned on your GATE-2023 scorecard, is filled up correctly. The name should also be filled up as appearing in the GATE Score Card. No request with respect to the change in any data entered by the candidate will be entertained once the application is submitted successfully.
5. Candidates belonging to the General/ EWS/ OBC category are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 300/-. The SC/ ST/ PwBD/ XSM category and female candidates need not pay the application fee. The payment can be made either in online or offline mode.
6. Payment in offline mode: The State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the application fee, in a specially opened account (No. 30987919993) at the CAG branch, New Delhi, on behalf of NTPC. The candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” which is available on the application portal. The pay-in slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of the amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. This journal number and the branch code are to be filled up by the candidate during the online application. NTPC will not be responsible in case the candidate deposits the fee in the wrong account.
7. Payment in online mode: Candidates also have the option to pay the fees online (through Net banking / Debit Card / Credit Card). The online payment option will be available in the online application form.
8. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances. Applicants are therefore requested to verify their eligibility before paying the registration fee.

General Information and Instructions:

1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
2. The candidate should ensure that he/ she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement.
3. All qualifications should be from an Indian University / Institute recognized by AICTE/ appropriate statutory authority.
4. All computations of age shall be done w.r.t. the last date of receipt of the online application as mentioned in the advertisement.
5. No manual/ paper application will be entertained.
6. A registered applicant’s application may be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process or after recruitment or joining if the information provided by the applicant is false or does not meet the eligibility criteria stated in the advertisement. Any form of solicitation will disqualify the applicant.
7. The E-mail ID entered in the online application form must remain valid for at least the next year. No change in the E-mail ID will be allowed, once entered. All future correspondence will be sent via E-mail only.
8. Candidates employed with Government Departments / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies are required to submit a relieving letter from their current organization at the time of joining if selected for the said post.
9. The mere fact that a candidate has submitted an application against the advertisement and apparently fulfills the criteria as prescribed in the advertisement would not bestow on him/her the right to be definitely called for further selection process.
10. NTPC reserves the right to cancel/ restrict/ enlarge/ modify/ alter the recruitment process, if the need so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason whatsoever.
11. Any proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/ or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Delhi and courts/ tribunals/ forums at Delhi only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any such cause/ dispute.
12. In case any ambiguity/ dispute arises on account of interpretation in versions other than English, the English Version will prevail.
