LMRC Career: All about Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation

With the operation started in 2017, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation is a rapid transit system serving the city of Lucknow in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.  Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) Limited is a joint venture company of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. These Government bodies hold the responsibility for implementing and operating of the rail-based Mass Rapid Transit System in the capital city of Lucknow.

Every year the LMRC invites applications for the technical vacancies in their organization. The selected candidates receive postings in Lucknow or any other projects of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited, anywhere in Uttar Pradesh. The officials conducting the LRMC Recruitment 2022 divide the respective posts into two categories, namely executive and non-executive categories. The executive category mainly includes the Executive (Technical) post of Assistant Manager and the non-executive category comprises the post of Junior Engineer.

 

In this blog post, we would like to talk about LMRC Recruitment for the executive and non-executive posts. Therefore, we have divided the article into 4 parts:

A. Eligibility criteria

  1. Age limit:

The age limit for the LMRC examination is between 21 to 28 Years for both the executive and non-executive posts.  However, the LMRC officials have implemented certain relaxations, which include the following:

  • The authorities grant the upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates of U.P. for reserved posts only. If any SC/ST/OBC candidate avails the benefit of age relaxation, the recruitment department considers the candidate only against the reserved post.
  • Individuals with UP domicile are entitled to such relaxation.
  • The upper age for Ex-servicemen of UP will be the length of service + 3 years, subject to a maximum age of 40 years. The Ex-servicemen are covered in the definition, as per extant rules of the Ministry of Defence/Govt. of India. Ex-Servicemen who have retired on 01.02.2018 and earlier can apply for the Lucknow Metro Vacancy 2022.
  • No relaxation is admissible in the upper age limit for Dependents of Freedom Fighters candidates and female candidates belonging to Uttar Pradesh.

 

  1. Educational Qualifications:

One can apply to these given posts if they fulfill the eligibility criteria and the Educational Qualification mentioned by the Lucknow Metro Recruitment Notification. The Qualifications are different for various posts depending on the branch one has applied from. Apart from the Educational Qualifications, the LMRC recruitment department has specified other eligibility criteria.

We shall first discuss the educational qualifications for the various posts for designations such as Assistant Manager and Junior Engineer under the Lucknow Metro Vacancy 2022.

 

B. LMRC Executive posts

Apart from the above-mentioned qualifications, there are other special cases where a person can apply for the above posts:

  • Candidates with higher qualifications in respective disciplines can also apply.
  • However, for the post of Maintainer candidates must have done ITI in specified, above-mentioned trades.
  • Candidates having higher qualifications viz. B.E./B.Tech/Diploma, but not having ITI in specific trades, are not eligible for these Maintainer posts.
  • Candidates can apply for more than one post according to their educational qualifications.
  • However, they must note that the officials involved in LMRC recruitment 2022 conduct the written test on one or more days in different cities (centers).
  • Candidates applying for more than one post must keep this combination in mind. In addition, the LMRC recruitment team charges a separate application fee for each post.
  • Selected candidates receive postings in Metro Projects in Lucknow and different cities across Uttar Pradesh.
  • The candidates must possess the minimum qualification as per the LMRC recruitment 2022 notification at the time of applying for the respective LMRC posts.

 

D. Selection Procedure:

  1. LMRC Executive post:

For the executive posts of assistant manager (Civil, electrical, S&T, Architecture, operations, and IT) the selection procedure is a two-stage process:

  • Written Test followed
  • Medical examination in Executive (Technical) category.

 

  1. LMRC Non Executive post:

For the non-executive posts such as LMRC Junior Engineers, the LMRC selection procedure is a two-stage process, which includes the following:

  • Written Test
  • Medical examinations in A-Three (A-3) category

 

For the post of Station Controller cum Train Operator and Customer Relations Assistant, the selection methodology comprises a three-stage process, which includes the following:

  • Written Test,
  • Psycho Aptitude Test,
  • Medical examination in A-one (A-1) category

For Office Assistant posts, the selection procedure will comprise a two-stage process:

  • Written Test
  • Medical examinations in C-One (C-1) category

 

For Maintainer posts, the selection procedure will comprise a two-stage process:

  • Written Test
  • Medical examinations in B-One (B-1) category

 

Important points:

  • Candidates having undergone Lasik surgery are not suitable for any of the above-mentioned posts except Office Assistant.
  • The candidates are required to qualify each step of the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited’s recruitment process with a medical examination to receive selection for both executive and non-executive posts.
  • The LMRC selection process aims to test the candidate’s knowledge, skills, comprehension, aptitude, and physical fitness, and select candidates accordingly.

 

E. Written Test format and syllabus

  • The written test will comprise of a CBT (Computer Based Test) which will be held for different posts on different days.
  • The officials prefer to create bilingual question papers, i.e., English and Hindi.
  • The Written test will consist of multiple-choice questions on General English to test the candidate’s knowledge of the English language, General Awareness, Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and knowledge of the discipline/trade.
  • There will be a total of 140 questions for the assistant manager, Junior Engineer, and Office assistant posts each carrying equal marks.
  • The question paper set for the maintainer post comprises 100 questions each carrying equal marks.
  • The question papers designed for the LMRC recruitment 2022 comprise negative marking. For every wrong answer, 1/3 marks will be deducted. The total duration of the examination is 2 hours.
  • Candidates who qualify in the written test for Station Controller cum Train Operator/Customer Relations Assistant and rank high on the merit list within the LMRC decided zone of consideration receive the call for the Psycho Aptitude test/Document verification/LTI Verification/Medical Examination, at Lucknow.
  • The psycho aptitude test is the qualifying test and the officials call the candidates eight times the number of vacancies (in all categories concerning prescribed reservation) for the psycho aptitude test.
  • The authorities call the candidates qualifying for the psycho aptitude test with high merit list rank for Medical examination/Document Verification.
  • The concerned team at LMRC calls all the candidates who qualify both the papers separately and rank high on merit as per the LMRC set rules and regulations.

  • The respective departments refund the training fees after completion of three years’ service excluding LWP/Extraordinary leaves.

Surety Bond:

  • Executive Cadre: A Surety Bond of Rs. 3,00,000 plus GST to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years. (Exclusive of the period in which he remained on LWP or EOL) and also a three months prior notice plus GST, will be required before seeking resignation from the corporation.
  • Non-executive cadre: A surety bond of Rs.1,50,000/- with GST to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years (exclusive of the period in which he remained on LWP or EOL) and also a three months prior notice plus GST, will be required before seeking resignation from the corporation. It is applicable for LMRC Junior Engineers post as well.
  • Maintainer: A surety bond of Rs. 75,000/- with GST to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years (exclusive of the period in which he remained on LWP or EOL) and also a three months prior notice plus GST, will be required before seeking resignation from the corporation.

 

Training:

  • The selected candidates on appointment will be on probation for a period of two years (including the period of training), where they will undergo intensive training for the prescribed duration.
  • The Corporation has the right to enhance or reduce the training period at its discretion for any or all the trainees.
  • During the probation period, candidates may be required to pass various examinations.
  • The corporation can terminate the service of the candidate during the probation period, if the respective team finds the candidate’s performance to be unsatisfactory, in accordance with the terms & conditions of the offer of appointment.
  • The probation period will exclude LWP or EOL. Candidates receive confirmation as a permanent employee after successful completion of the probation period depending upon their satisfactory performance.

Important Points with respect to the selection for the LMRC recruitment 2022 and application form:

  1. The application form is valid for both executive and non-executive posts of the LMRC.
  2. A single candidate can apply for more than one post if he/she is eligible for the respective post.
  3. The candidate must deposit a separate fee for each post.
  4. The validity duration of the Selection Panel is two years from the date of its approval.
  5. Interested candidates must follow the eligibility criteria as failure to do so will lead to failure of the respective candidate’s candidature.
