During this SSC JE 2025 slot selection period, candidates can select the SSC JE 2025 exam city and the SSC JE 2025 exam date and shift. SSC JE 2025 Slot Selection Window
SSC JE, the gateway to jobs in various government departments like BRO, CPWD, MES, CWC, and many others, is a popular government exam for engineering degree and diploma holders. After clearing SSC JE, medically fit and eligible candidates are offered the post of Junior Engineer at a basic pay of ₹35,400 as per the 7th Pay Commission, along with other benefits.
Candidates up to the age of 30 (32 for CPWD) who have done a diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering were eligible for SSC JE 2025 recruitment. Candidates can read the eligibility criteria for SSC JE 2025 from here.
SSC JE is conducted in two stages, viz., paper 1 (200 questions, 200 marks) and paper 2 (100 questions, 300 marks). Those who clear paper 1 are called for paper 2. The final merit list and department allocation are done on the basis of marks scored by candidates in paper 1 and paper 2.
For the comfort and ease of aspirants, The Staff Selection Commission has launched a new facility in which candidates can choose their exam date, shift, and city as per their choice. Candidates can fill the slots from 10th November 2025 to 13th November 2025 (11:00 PM).
To avail the facility of SSC JE 2025 slot selection, candidates will have to login into the candidate portal and exercise their choice for city (out of 3 choices submitted at the time of application), date and shift. Let us look how SSC JE 2025 candidates can select their slot.

How to select your exam slot (Step-by-Step Guide)?
To help aspirants, we are providing step-by-step guide for SSC JE 2025 slot selection.
- Candidates have to login into the candidate portal and select ‘My Application’. A section will appear including candidate application status. The candidates would have to click on ‘Select City, Exam Date, Shift’ button.
- General Instructions will appear on the candidate screen. Candidates’ are advised to read and follow these instructions. Upon reading the instructions, candidate should choose a suitable date of examination and click on ‘Get Slot Details’.
- Candidates would see their 03 cities for which they had exercised option at the time of submitting their applications, they will be shown the availability of slots in various shifts at those cities.
- In case, slots are available on a chosen date, the ‘Select’ symbol against each shift would appear in Green colour.
- Once the candidate opts for a particular shift in their chosen exam date, the selected shift will be highlighted in Green colour. The candidates must ensure to ‘Validate & Submit’ their choice of slot for the examination, by submitting the OTP sent either on registered mobile number, or the registered email ID.
- However, if the slot is not available on the particular date of examination, the candidates would see ‘Not Available’ text written against the said shifts. In such cases, the candidates may either opt for a different date of examination in which the slot is available or the candidate may choose alternate city from the options as given below. Upon selection of either a different date of examination or the alternate city, the procedure described in the previous steps, may be followed.
- As a one-time measure, only for SSC JE 2025 Exam, if a candidate fails to exercise the slot selection option within the prescribed time limit, the system will automatically allocate an available slot in any of the cities opted during the application window or as per availability. The decision of the Commission regarding the slot allocation shall be final and binding.
- “City – Live” for the candidates appearing in SSC JE 2025 Tier-1 exam will be activated on Monday 10th November 2025, when the candidates can log in to the portal and see details of the City/Date and Slot allotted. They will be able to download the admit card for the exam 3-4 days prior to the allotted exam date.
- Moreover, candidates may note that option once submitted by the candidates will be considered final. No further changes to the selected slot will be allowed and no representation in this regard will be entertained by the Commission.
Important Points to Remember
Candidates should note that they would get only a limited time (10th November to 13th November 2025) for SSC JE 2025 slot selection; therefore, candidates should make sure that they select the slots as early as possible because slots would get filled very quickly. Aspirants should also make sure that they choose the date and shift carefully, as no further changes will be allowed; no representation in this regard will be entertained by the Commission.

Slot selection is important as it enables SSC JE 2025 aspirants to choose their preferred exam city, date, and shift. Earlier such selection was done by the commission itself, but this year, the Staff Selection Commission has provided this facility to aspirants to choose the date, time, and exam city.

One-Time Slot Selection Opportunity for SSC JE 2025 Aspirants
Another significant update for SSC JE 2025 candidates has been released by the Staff Selection Commission. According to the most recent announcement, students who were unable to select the preferred exam city during the earlier self-slot selection session now have one more opportunity to do so using the feedback module found in the SSC candidate login. On November 28, 2025, this extended facility will be operational until 11:00 AM. Candidates should be aware, however, that their desired exam city will only be assigned based on availability and best efforts.
The SSC JE Paper-1 exam will not be scheduled for those who do not take advantage of this final chance, and their admit cards will not be created.
Candidates who successfully chose their exam location and time slot within the initial window (November 10–13, 2025) will be able to view their assigned exam city, date, and shift starting on November 25, 2025.
