BPSC AE Eligibility Criteria 2026
It is important to check the BPSC AE eligibility criteria carefully. Once you qualify these criteria, you can proceed to apply. Let us see the criteria given below:
- For Assistant Engineer posts, candidates need a full-time BE or BTech degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Candidates having a technical degree from a recognized institution can also apply.
- Candidates who have passed branch A and B or equivalent exams from the Institute of Engineers or an institution recognised by the Institute of Engineers can also apply.
- Final-year students are not eligible. They can only apply if they hold the required degree by the last date of application.

The written exam for BPSC AE exam pattern 2026 is an objective-type paper. The BPSC AE exam consists of 6 papers in total. Out of the 6 papers, 4 papers are compulsory and 2 are optional. The optional papers are based on the engineering branch of the candidate. The BPSC AE exam duration is 6 hours (1 hour each paper). The exam takes place in multiple sessions and days.
