Post-wise Vacancy Details & PwBD Category Suitability
Candidates with disabilities (PwBD) can apply for posts identified as suitable for their category (as per Table 1-B), even if no specific vacancy is reserved for them. However, they must belong to a reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC (NCL) to be considered under that category’s merit.
For posts specifically reserved for PwBD (as per Table 1-C), candidates from any category (GEN/EWS/OBC (NCL)/SC/ST) can apply, provided they meet the required benchmark disability criteria.
Applicants applying under the PwBD quota will be eligible for reservation benefits and concessions only if they have a minimum of 40% disability.
If suitable candidates are not available in a specific PwBD category, vacancies may be filled by candidates from other identified benchmark disabilities. In case no suitable PwBD candidate is found, the vacancy may be filled by non-PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines.
Note: Reservation for PwBD candidates is provided on a horizontal basis.

Compensation Package
NHPC offers an attractive and comprehensive compensation package, including Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, Cafeteria Allowance, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical Facilities, and social security benefits such as Provident Fund (PF), Pension, and Gratuity, as per company rules.
Selected candidates will be appointed in the pay scale of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000 (IDA) (E2) during a one-year training period. After successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed as Engineer/Officer in the same pay scale, followed by a one-year probation period.
The total annual CTC for newly joined candidates is approximately ₹15–16 lakhs, making it a highly competitive package.
Placement:
Candidates will be placed at Projects / Power Stations/ Offices including Joint Ventures & Subsidiary Companies of NHPC in various parts of the country or abroad.

Candidates with a valid GATE 2024/2025 score can apply online through the official NHPC website by following the steps below:
- Visit the NHPC website and register using your GATE 2024/2025 Registration Number for Advertisement No. NH/Rectt/02/2026.
- Carefully read the official notification to check eligibility criteria (age, qualification, etc.) before applying.
- Fill out the online application form with accurate details. After submission, a Unique Registration Number will be generated.
- Upload required documents, including certificates (PDF format), passport-size photo and signature as per prescribed size.
- Pay the application fee of ₹708 (₹600 + taxes) for OBC (NCL) candidates. (SC/ST/Women/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen are exempted from fee).
- Ensure all details are correct before final submission, as the fee is non-refundable.

Step 1: Visit the official website www.nhpcindia.com and click on the “Careers” section.
Step 2: Carefully read all instructions and eligibility details before starting the application.
Step 3: Fill out the online application form with correct information and submit it.
Step 4: Keep Required Documents Ready Before applying, keep scanned copies of the following documents:
- Matriculation/10th Certificate (Date of Birth proof)
- 12th, Graduation & Post-Graduation certificates/mark sheets (if applicable)
- Valid Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates)
- OBC (NCL) certificate issued within the last 6 months (if applicable)
- Disability Certificate (if applicable)
- Proof of full-time/regular course (from Institution/University)
- CGPA to Percentage conversion certificate (if applicable)
- GATE 2024/2025 Scorecard

Step 5: Upload your latest photograph and signature as per the given size and format.

Note: Application registered with invalid GATE-2024/GATE-2025 Registration Number shall be summarily rejected. Application without complete documents shall not be entertained and shall be rejected. Candidates should not send any document/ certificate or printout of Registration Slip / Form through Post.
Selection Process
The NHPC selection process is based on GATE score, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI).
Step 1: Selection Criteria Selection will be based on:
- GATE 2024/2025 (Normalized Marks out of 100 – Best Score)
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)
Step 2: GATE Score Requirement
- Candidates must have a valid GATE 2024 or 2025 score in the relevant discipline.
- If appeared in both, the best score must be submitted.
- Once submitted, the GATE score will be treated as final (no changes allowed later).
Step 3: Shortlisting for GD & PI
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on GATE normalized marks (out of 100).
- Shortlisting ratio: up to 1:5 (vacancies : candidates).
- In case of a tie, all candidates with equal marks will be shortlisted, even if the ratio exceeds.
Step 4: GD & Interview Process
- Shortlisted candidates must submit a consent form for GD/PI.
- Failure to submit the form or appear will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Candidates must carry all required documents mentioned in the call letter.
Step 5: Final Selection Weightage Final merit will be prepared based on:
- GATE Score (2024/2025)
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)

There will be no cut off or qualifying marks for Group Discussion. However, there will be cut off marks for combined score of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates shall be considered for empanelment if they obtained the qualifying percentage as mentioned below:

Step 6: Minimum Qualification Criteria
- Candidates must qualify in GATE and also in the combined performance of GD & PI.
- Only GATE 2024/2025 scores are valid for this recruitment.
Step 7: Final Selection Conditions
- Meeting minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee selection.
- Final selection depends on vacancies, category-wise merit, document verification, and eligibility criteria.
Step 8: Tie-Breaking Rule
- In case of equal marks, the older candidate (by date of birth) will be ranked higher
Step 9: Offer of Appointment
- Final selection will be based on category-wise merit and requirement.
- Selected candidates will be informed via their registered email ID

General Information & Instructions
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have a valid GATE 2024/2025 score. Final-year students are not eligible.
- Only GATE 2024/2025 marks (out of 100) will be considered. Scores from other years are not valid.
- Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying. If found ineligible later, candidature will be cancelled.
- Category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD) once selected cannot be changed. Valid certificates in prescribed format are required.
- Minimum qualification marks will be calculated based on the average of all semesters/years.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive GD/PI details via email only (date, time, and venue).
- No request for change in GD/PI venue or schedule will be entertained.
- Age and qualification will be calculated as on the last date of application.
- Date of Birth proof: Only Matriculation/Secondary certificate will be accepted.
- Submission of application does not guarantee shortlisting for further stages.
- Travel reimbursement (3rd AC train/bus fare) will be provided for GD/PI if distance is 30 km or more (on ticket submission).
- No relaxation in eligibility criteria will be allowed under any circumstances.
- Internal candidates can also apply as per company guidelines.
- Application mode is online only. No offline applications will be accepted.
- Qualification will be considered based on the result declaration date/mark sheet issuance date.
- Candidature may be rejected at any stage if any information is found incorrect or false.
