Stage 1: Preliminary examination
The Preliminary Exam is a screening test and is used only to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination; marks scored here are not added to the final merit list.
It includes one paper of civil engineering consisting of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

The main examination accounts for 500 marks and is the most important basis for preparing the final merit list along with the interview marks.
