NOTE:-
(A). B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.)/MCA/M.Sc/M.Tech must be from University/The institute is recognized by appropriate statutory authority in India and should be a regular full-time course.
(B). Degree obtained through online/correspondence/or part-time course or Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in non-technical disciplines, i.e., Hindi, is Also recognised for mode of recruitment of MTs (i.e., direct recruitment), provided the qualification is recognized by the relevant statutory bodies for employment to posts and services of the central government.
(C). The minimum qualifying marks for GENERAL (UR), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category candidates are 60%. For SC, ST and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates, relaxation of 5% is given in the minimum qualifying marks, i.e., 55%. In case of CGPA/GPA, conversion in percentage certificate issued by University/Institute should be attached without fail.
(d). Appearing Candidates:
- Candidates who are currently studying in final semester / year / tri semester of academic year 2025-26 of minimum required qualification are eligible to apply if they expect their results by 31.08.2026. However, the minimum criteria of marks shall apply for them for the completed degree”.
- Apart from the other required documents, the candidates of final year / The semester/trimester will have to upload their all marksheets up to latest year / semester wise/ trimester mark sheet / marks transcript of relevant minimum educational qualification.

Coal India Limited’s management trainee selection process consist of the following stages:-
- Computer-based test: The candidates need to qualify for the online examination. This examination will test subject knowledge, general awareness, reasoning ability and English language skills.
- Document verification process: The candidates who qualify for the computer-based test are called for the document verification. Under this, the candidate needs to provide all the original documents, such as educational qualification certificates, identification proofs, category certificates, disability certificates (if any) and other relevant documents.

Coal India limited salary and other benefits
The candidates who are selected as Coal India CIL management trainees need to undergo the mandatory training before the regular posting.
Selected candidates will be placed as management trainees in the E-1 grade in the scale of pay of ₹. 60,000 – 180,000/- at the initial basic of ₹. 60,000/- per month during the training period.
On successful and satisfactory completion of 1-year training cum probation, service will be confirmed in E-1 grade as officer (discipline).
The candidates get other benefits as well, such as dearness allowances, house rent allowances, medical facilities, a provident fund, gratuity, leave encashment, maternity benefits and other career advancement options.
The actual remuneration may vary depending on the place of posting, financial performance of the Company and also performance rating of the individual.
Other important details
SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND: Appointed candidates are required to serve the company for a minimum period of 60 months from the date of joining the company. The candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond of ₹ 3 Lakhs (rupees three lakh) at the time of joining. A sum of Rs 5000/- per month will be deducted from the salary of the MTs towards bond money, which will be refunded without interest after successful completion of 60 months of service
Training and probation: Selected candidates will be placed as management trainees in the E-1 grade in the scale of pay of ₹. 60,000 – 180,000/- at the initial basic of ₹. 60,000/- per month during the training period. On successful and satisfactory completion of 1-year training cum probation, service will be confirmed in E-1 grade as an officer (discipline). Besides basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to dearness allowance, HRA, perquisites and allowances under the cafeteria approach, including performance-related pay (PRP) as applicable for the post. Benefits such as leave, medical facilities, CMPF, CMPS, gratuity, the CIL Executive Defined Contribution Pension Scheme, etc. will be admissible as per extant rules of the company. The actual remuneration may vary depending on the place of posting, financial performance of the company and also performance rating of the individual.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION: The selected candidates shall be required to undergo Initial Medical Examination (IME) by the company’s Medical Committee as per the Medical Attendance Rules of the company before appointment. The decision of the Medical Committee is final and binding. Candidates are advised to refer CIL’s Medical Attendance Rule available on CIL’s website and ensure that they fulfil the medical / physical standard to avoid any disappointment in IME.
POSTING: Candidates may be posted in any of the subsidiary companies, including Coalfield areas. Only those candidates should apply who are ready to serve anywhere in India. Candidates, however, will be required to submit three choice in order of preference for posting, but the final posting will be as per the availability of vacancy and decision of CIL Management in this regard will be final and binding.
