The changes in preparing competitive exam Coronavirus

It has been long since the first lockdown was declared in the country, since then people have started to adopt the present scenario as the regular norm. However, the most affected by this pandemic are the students, who are not sure what to do. At the start of the year students had planned and scheduled their studies and in-lined it with the exam date. Suddenly the coronavirus changed everything, and they are not sure what to do next.

  1. The exams got postponed: With no foxed exam date being provided by the government, the students are in dilemma regarding the exam date. This is making them anxious and hampering their concentration during the preparation.
  2. The coaching institutes are closed: With the coaching institutes closed, students are not sure how to plan their studies. Lot of them have just started their preparation and not much aware of the exam pattern and the syllabus. The closure of coaching has thus affected the students adversely.
  3. No group studies: With all students back home, group studies and discussion has suffered. The students are finding it hard to do group studies with their friends.
  4. Lesser technological Advancement: With many places in India still lacking in good network connection, lesser technological advancement is hampering the studies of students.

However, there are certain positive changes came up to help the students preparing for competitive exams.

  1. Online classes: To adopt to the changing times the coaching institutes have switched to online classes. Even the best coaching institutes have released their new online classes packages to help the students during the lockdown. From regular live classes, doubt clearing sessions to concept through questions, test series everything now can be accessed from the comfort of your house.
  2. More time for preparation: With the exam date postponed, the students have got ore time for preparation. They can now learn and revise all the topics that they earlier had left due to shortage of time. The students now also have enough time for revision also. The extra time available can be now utilised for the best instead of getting anxious.
  3. Enough time for working professionals: Even the working professionals who were planning of giving the ESE or GATE Examination, but backed off duet to shortage of time, can now make the most of their time. With the work from home culture, they are spending lesser time in travel, gossiping and thus they can utilize that time for their preparation.
  4. Preparation without any distractions: With everything around closed, and people scared about the spread of COVID-19, there are less of distractions present for the students. This is the best time when the students preparing for a competitive exam must take care of their health as well as their studies.
  5. Lesser expensive preparation: With the online classes, preparation and coaching has become less expensive. The students do not have to spend a lot of money on housing and food, instead they can stay at home and make the most of the online classes.

Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.

So, though Coronavirus too has come with its set of discomforts, the future holds a lot of positivity. There are lot of changes that are occurring, while it may take some time for the students to adapt, the future of education will change.
