SELECTION OF GRADUATE APPRENTICES

Online applications are invited for selection of Graduate Apprentices (B.E/B.Tech/Bachelor in Hotel Management) for the following disciplines under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Amendment Act of 1973, from candidates who acquired Degree from any recognized University coming under the Southern Region of Board of Apprenticeship Training (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry) for the training year 2021-22. The number of Training positions and essential qualifications prescribed is indicated against each column.

First Class Degree (4 years duration)

in Hotel Management/ Catering Technology (AICTE approved) with not less than 60% marks.
Note* Candidates who have acquired Degree before January 2019 and appearing for final year / Result awaiting candidates are not eligible to apply.

 

Duration of Training and Compensation

The duration of training will be for a period of one year from the date of joining and the monthly stipend will be INR-9000/-.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 30 years as of 08.10.2021 for General candidates. (33 years for OBC, 35 years for SC/ST. Additional 10 years relaxation for PWBD candidates in their respective categories). Reservation to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWBD candidates is applicable as per Govt. of India rules.

General Instructions

  1. Only Indian nationals need to apply.
  1. Candidates who have completed three years after acquiring the prescribed qualification are not eligible for apprenticeship training (i.e.,3 years from the month & year as specified in the Degree certificate). Further, candidates who are positioned/ waitlisted for engagement, will not be considered for training, if they cross the three-year time limit, at the time of issue of the offer.
  2. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Amendment Act,1973 or having one year or more experience from any institutions are not eligible to apply.
  3. Candidates pursuing the sandwich course, private degree, short term /certificate courses, degree in disciplines other than those listed above, etc. are not eligible to apply.
  4. Candidates should enroll in the NATS portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) and submit their enrolment ID at the time of joining for registration under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and execute a contract immediately after induction for training. Non-registered candidates will be rejected.
  1. The trainees will have no claim whatsoever for employment in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre or any other Centres / Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/ Department of Space after completion of the training period. No accommodation will be provided by the center for Apprentices during the training period.
  2. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
  3. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

Application Process

  1. Applications will be received through online mode only.
  1. Interested candidates may apply by clicking the application link given on the website www.vssc.gov.in.
  1. Candidates are required to use a valid and active e-mail IO to register, which will be used for future communications as well. The application can be submitted only once with a particular email ID. Avoid duplicate applications from multiple email IDs.
  1. B.E/B.Tech/BHM Certificate (Original/Provisional), Consolidated Mark list, Certificate of reservation if and (Caste certificate if belonging to SC/ST, Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued by Tahsildar within one year from the last date of the online application if belong to OBC, Income & Asset Certificate issued by Tahsildar in the format prescribed in Govt. of India order of 2019 for the financial year 2021-22, if belongs to EWS) and Disability Certificate in case of PWBD scanned as a single PDF File with file size limited to 800KB have to be uploaded.
  1. Scanned copies of Photo and Signature in jpeg formats to be uploaded as per the dimensions given below:

(i) Photo- Max. Size 30KB, Dimensions: 150W x 200H.

(ii)Sign- Max. Size 30KB, Dimensions: 150W x 50H

  1. Enter the correct data in the relevant fields as required. The data received in the online application will be considered as final. No change will be allowed once the application is submitted.
  2. Aggregate marks secured for a degree should be entered either in CGPA or % of marks as given in the Consolidated Mark list. Data regarding B.E/B.Tech/BHM aggregate marks/Class, Month & year of passing, etc. should be verifiable from the Certificates being uploaded. If any discrepancy is noticed at any stage, it will be considered as a disqualification and the candidature will be canceled.
  3. Upon online registration, applicants will be provided with an Online Registration Number which should be carefully preserved for future reference. Candidates are also advised to take a printout of the online application and submit the same at the time of joining if selected. No need to send it by post

Selection Process

  1. The final rank list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks scored by the candidate in the relevant qualification, duly giving weightage to Reservation categories. The offers of engagement will be issued based on the panel position, subject to the availability of vacant positions.
  1. The selected candidates will be required to produce all the relevant documents in original, in support of the claims made in the online application, viz., proof of Date of birth, certificates of all educational qualifications acquired from SSLC/SSC/AISSC onwards, certificates of experience if any, Caste certificate if belongs to SC/ST, Non-creamy layer certificate if belongs to OBC, Income & Asset certificate if belongs to EWS, Disability certificate in case of PWBD, etc. at the time of joining.
  1. At the time of joining, the original Certificates will be verified and if any mismatch is noticed in any of the data entered in the online application, the same will be considered as a disqualification and the candidate will be summarily rejected.
